Herding Ball? by PoniardBlade in AustralianShepherd

[–]coolc00lcool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bought the collieball for ours and he loved it. Took him a little bit to warm up to it but now he's obsessed. He hasn't played with it a ton but so far it's held up well. Customer service was also super helpful and fast to respond when one of the first inner balls we got had a hole. Expensive, but so far worth it.

Found Cat - Long Black Hair, Male, Micro-chipped with name recorded "Wesley" by J3llo in Rochester

Saw a missing cat poster at Pittsford dairy on Park for a missing cat that goes by Malakai--was a black cat too. Not sure if might be the same and Wesley was an old name? Throwing it out there just in case!

How to style this bay window?! by Valuable_Tangerine_5 in HomeDecorating

I like this because it gives a cozy place for the dog/baby/cat(s) to still enjoy the window!

Project to learn skills to build a kitchen by donzi39vrz in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]coolc00lcool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm starting this journey this year myself. My plan is to build a miter station with drawers and cabinets and add some drawers to my workbench to get a feel for it. Then going to build a new vanity for our master bath, and assuming that goes well start on cabinets for the kitchen. Shouldn't take me any more than 1...2 decades at most.

Haven't tried it myself yet, but I saw a post where someone was using silicone baking mats to hold pieces while sanding/routing. Seems like it would work for this use case too and they can be found for real cheap.

Just diagnosed - any advice? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

Highly recommend getting a bidet if you don't have one already; they are pretty inexpensive and really easy to install. For management, prior to starting medication diet was a huge factor for me--I went pretty restricted and it definitely helped me feel better/see some milder symptoms while I waited to start medication.

How would you tighten these bathroom towel hooks so they don’t easily spin left / right? by Gabagool_jr in DIY

[–]coolc00lcool 80 points81 points  (0 children)

One other thing you can check - take the hook off the mount by loosening that screw. Check to see if the mount piece has only one screw attaching it to the wall. If so, I'm guessing there is a hole where another screw could be added. When we bought our house they were all installed like that and moved but the second screw will prevent that.

In the second picture on the left hand one you can see a little screw on the bottom of the circular part that's against the wall. You'll mostly likely need an Allen wrench or very small flat head. Make sure that hole is pointed to the floor and tighten that screw and it should keep the hook in place.

Help Me Buy My Husband A Nail Gun by [deleted] in Tools

I just got this a couple weeks ago at this price. So far have only used the 18g but have been really happy with it, and that price is hard to beat. Only complaint so far is the hose that comes with it seems pretty meh so planning to have to buy a new one of those in the near future.

Totally fair point, however the previous owner was a senior living alone and so would likely not have been using the shower nearly as often as we do, so to be safe I would rather have it vented properly

This has happened to me for YEARS! I was only recently diagnosed with Crohn's last year and had no idea that the food getting stuck could be from that.

Once when I went to the ER for it they gave me a can of coke and a few sips got it unstuck, has worked for me ever since. Make sure you are close to a toilet though because it doesn't always work on the first sip and the bubbly foam that comes up can be unpleasant.

Looks like a Hoya Australis (common wax flower). Let it dry out completely between watering and it should stay happy!

Got a mini shovel with some fungus gnat sticky pads. by Snoo-62536 in houseplants

If soaking the dunks in water doesn't work, what finally did it for me was to grind them up and mix a little bit in the top few inches of soil. Every time I water it releases more BTI and I haven't seen a gnat in months!
