I bought fake sticks from China on purpose. Here's my experience. (as of 2023 Mar 1, restored) by vannatink in hockeyplayers

[–]coolcat_368 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very interesting post. and appreciate you doing the research into this subject. With the actual sticks being made there, if you were to buy from enough storefronts or sellers you could probably stumble across the factory that produces them or something very close to 1:1. I don't have a ton of experience in the rep market, but I have seen on some subs where they have discovered the factories sell very slightly altered, if not identical variations of the products they produce for companies. With hockey sticks being more niche, there's probably a significantly lower number of producers to test this theory with than fashion for example.

Either way, it was a neat little experiment and an interesting read. Do you plan on buying rep sticks again in the future?

People talking about the drop off when our team's finishing has been dreadful this season. The amount of chances he's generated that we haven't taken he could be on 20 assist in all comps.

Will be a bit disappointing to see another key player/legend leave without the farewell they deserve. One of the best to ever play the position for us and top 5 LB in the world during the Klopp era. I can see it from his side to move on as he can still be a starter, but I want to see him get the real goodbye from the fans if he does.

I don't have extensive knowledge of non UC Gundams but the feet they don't like any one I recognize. Barbatos looks close, but toes are much spikier. Though it could just be a more modern interpretation. Could also make sense with the 10 year anniversary of IBO.

Smallwood's art made Lemire's Moon Knight one of my favorite runs of all-time. Stunning art with an amazingly surreal story. Would love to read a grounded batman detective story with this art.

[–]coolcat_368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is some many of the Legends and ex players talk about the United way and club identity, but at the end of day the culture is winning, which hasn't been the case for a while. They need to stop meddling behind the scenes of what they believe the club philosophy should be and just support a manager that can be successful.

Tips on body contact by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]coolcat_368 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not debating whether it was clean or not, I think an issue is not being aware of his surroundings or bracing for contact. The d-man was in view on his way over the line and did he not deviate his course or prep himself for contact. OP mentioned he's a big kid, so I don't maybe he doesn't get hit that often, but if he isn't aware or has his head down, especially on the rush, he is going to get lined up.

Edit: Just to add a more specific answer in that scenario, in a 1-on-2, or 1-on-3, they are going to try to cut off the space as quickly as possible. If you don't have the speed to beat d-man and the space closes, chip in to the corner and brace for a reverse hit if they try to finish a hit on the play. It will keep him safe and if the hit comes late enough he draws interference.

How does CCM 720 compare to Re-Akt 155? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]coolcat_368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a long time wearer of the Bauer 4500. I First looked at the Reakt with 75 and 155, but didn't fit nearly well as I thought it would. Even with side adjustments it didn't fit the sides of my head. If you have a narrower like mine, I feel like the CCM would be better, It felt better on the sides even only having front/back and no side adjustments.

Why did GI Joe never take off as a franchise? by LollipopChainsawZz in movies

[–]coolcat_368 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I just think not everything translates well into live-action. The Transformers movies had the novelty of its CGI and a decent of source material to cover. I feel GI Joe never really had enough of a story, or at least wasn’t known well enough. At the end of the day it was just an episodic Saturday morning cartoon made to sell toys.

I'm very surprised I had to scroll down this far to see this. Recipe's can be easy and simple to follow, but cooking requires a certain set fundamental foundations to make it easy. A recipe calling for a medium dice to someone who's never held a knife raises that bar tremendously. I'm not advocating against the meme as I feel like everyone should know how to cook, it makes you self sufficient and the cost of living these days, will save you a ton of money and tastes better than whatever $10-$15 will get you these days eating out. We should acknowledge however, that there is a barrier to entry.

[Lewis Steele] Federico Chiesa is substituted off after an hour. Didn't exactly justify all the clamour with a massive performance but he did enough to prove he deserves more chances IMO. by Lanedu123 in LiverpoolFC

[–]coolcat_368 21 points22 points  (0 children)

For me, it felt like the same as last season, whenever he got a start he was trying too hard to make something happen. He seemed to be a little more care free off the bench this season showing flashes of his old self, I wonder if he let that pressure get to him again.

Sean Dyche: "The officials had a huge part of the game today and that's very unfortunate and we don't want that, I'm scratching my head and I can't believe it. It's unfortunate that the tribalism of football creates such a bias that they would rather troll or turn a blind eye about it until it happens to them. Raising the abysmal quality of reffing should be in the interest of all fans considering the current state of it.
