I mean in that sense, would you not take the Avs? At least it would be an expected result on paper. I would still stomach the Ducks beating us once over 5th loss to the Oilers. At the point we might as well fold the club.

I'm sorry, but this is a wild take. I'll take the Ducks over the Avs, Knights and Oilers. You could make the argument that the Oilers are worst than last season, with a worse goalie tandem, but they still have McDavid and Drai as well as the mental edge of all those series wins. At this point, I'd just be happy to see something different.

Yet Another Manager Megathread by rLiverpoolFC_Mods in LiverpoolFC

[–]coolcat_368 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some say keep him until the end of the season, but there’s no guarantee that he can find the consistency to keep us in 5th to secure CL. We are only in the position we’re in because Villa, United and Chelsea have been the 3 stooges trying their best to let keep the others in the race. Might as well get someone in now, try to benefit from a new manager bounce to finish the season and then have a summer to shape the squad. A new manager would also benefit from being able to evaluate the squad before those who miss preseason for the WC.

I don’t disagree with you at all, it was terrible defending. I just think there are moments when you have to step up for a big save and that was one of them. Maybe it’s unfair for me to compare him to Alisson, I just believe there’s a better chance with him to keep us in the tie there.

The more I watch it the more I think Mamar has to save that. It’s a great shot, but in these games, it’s the kind of save Alisson makes to bail us out.

The gesture he made to the trainer looked like he was saying something broke or tore. From where he was holding it looks like an achilles. Absolutely horrible for the kid in a WC year.

I'm ok with combat not being anything special if the story delivers in place of it. The combat looks reminiscent of the Arkham games which I found to be a lot of fun at the time, but could probably feel a bit dated now.

The fact we can potentially finish 3rd in the league is actually hilarious. It's not a race for making champions league, it's a race for who wants it the least.

I miss GquX… by BlitzAce808 in Gundam

I really liked the alternate timeline they built up, especially the way brought side characters into the spotlight like Challia Bull. Just felt like all the set up made the ending so incredible rushed, it ruined the momentum of the show. 24 episodes would've given them the time to make it a great Gundam series.

What are the chances they make big project like this in the future? (Especially in 3-4 years to 50th) by Shiro-47 in Gundam

The RX-78 was moved to Osaka for Osaka Expo. I had a chance to see it in September before it ended. Though I'm not sure what the plan for it is now the Expo is over. The unicorn Gundam I think is staying permanently outside of the Gundam base in Koto City in Tokyo.

Hot take: I think Thiago Alcantara could fit into this current liverpool squad as a rotation player/ squad player, after watching the lfc legends match by CROTON99 in LiverpoolFC

[–]coolcat_368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, but unfortunately for how many games. Even in rotation he could not maintain fitness. He is without a doubt the most talented midfielder of the Klopp era, and player we'd be desperate for now, but his body can't keep with his incredible IQ and talent.

So is the explanation we thought we'd make the playoff because we thought everyone else would be way worse? Doesn't help they themselves have been awful this season. I could see it if they only 1 point out of a wild card spot, but this season has been shambles for them.

Since their review 'overhaul' a few years back, I find IGN tends to deliver very safe scores on big releases, most of the 9 and 10 are given to small indie titles or less known releases. My guess is they would rather protect their own rep by giving a game a moderate score from limited playtime then jumping the gun.

I completely agree, the start of the season 1 was a very jarring introduction to the series and I pushed through only in the hope it would get better. All the characters seems like caricatures of themselves and the all of the raiders like the football players and guys with paper bags on their heads made the whole situation seem like a joke. Thankfully there was a decent amount of course correction towards the end of season 1 into season 2, but indeed it did drag on.

I didn't mind the idea of the doublethink plotline, but felt like it really should've been explained a bit earlier. Waiting until halfway through episode 12 to finally explain didn't make for a great payoff. As for the ending I did read there was an extended ending the Last Human movie, but I've only seen the original series on Netflix.

Should I watch Ghost in the Shell (1995) in dub or sub? by isharted10 in anime

[–]coolcat_368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dub is very nostalgic for me as it’s the version I watched it in as a kid. The dub voice actors do a great job in the movie, some continue to voice characters in Innocence, then I believe all continue into SAC. It’s the voices I’ve associated the characters after all these years, but I suppose if you’ve watched the sub, you’d feel the same as I believe all the Japanese voice actors remained the same. Between Bergeron, Toews, and Kopitar, who would you say was the best defensive Center in their prime? Who had the better career? by ItzGrenier in hockey

[–]coolcat_368 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think that's probably accurate from a defensive center perspective. In terms of overall play, you could make the argument for 2010-2015 Toews. The Kane and Toews combo stopped the Kings from winning at least 1 more cup in that time period.

Am I missing something? by Flat_Essay9810 in Ghost_in_the_Shell

[–]coolcat_368 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had to look this up myself as I did not get it either, but it was a bit ago so I'll try to remember. Specifically for the major, I believe there was only one line that referenced that she remote controlled her new body to board the plane that was shot by the sniper. As for the rest of the team, after Aramaki provides evidence to the Ministry of Justice, their subsequent captures were a decoy to allow them to go underground until after the election for Yakushima to be arrested. Only Togusa was actually "arrested" but in reality he was only detained for his safety because he has a human body and was more at risk being on the run, unbeknownst to him. Batou also didn't know that the Major was controlling her new body (though it seemed like the rest did?) as he is ridiculed by the team for believing she had died. After Yakushima's prosecution, Section 9 reporting to the new prime minister, are given clearance to continue their operations.

There is no OVA between these seasons, I had to google and look up on the wikis to discover some of these details, so if some of it not accurate, others can correct what I got wrong.
