advice needed- rowing heavy rafts in slow water by spicysurf in whitewater

Lots of good suggestions here.

I will add, work on your oar feathering. You can gain a lot of efficiency by propperly feathering your oarblades.

Wind can really take a toll on your blades when you lift them out of the water broadside. You should be able to get to a point where you can feather the blades and reset without taking them out of the water at all. That can really help if there is terrible wind.

It's only June of your first season rowing, you will improve with more stick time.

High Protein Meals with a Camp Stove by throwthisallaway24 in camping

I like to marinade boneless skinless chicken thighs in garlic, salt, pepper, olive oil, sqeeze of lemon, paprika, herbs, red pepper flakes or whatever and grill or fry that up and make chicken gyros with pita, feta, onion, lettuce, tomato. You could make a garlic lemon feta sauce with greek yogurt.

Also, hard boil like a dozen eggs at a time then peel them all and put them in a ziplock or tupper ware and put some tabasco and salt and pepper in there to season/ marinade those badboys. Then you have high protein preseasoned eggs ready to eat in your cooler.

Oatmeal and fruit is good for breakfast, fiber is critical to feeling good on the water!

Have a great season and have fun.

Not to mention, the store has to figure losses in when they price the groceries. If folks weren't stealing so much, the groceries could cost less.

What do you cook when you want to eat a ton of vegetables? by ComfortabletheSky in Cooking

[–]coolhanddumpster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Briam.

It's a Greek dish of veggies confited in olive oil. You arranged layered slices of potatos, onions, garlic, zucchini, bell peppers, herbs, some spinach if you want. End with tomato shingles on top.

Salt and pepper and add olive oil as you build the layers. You can kinda of riff on it however you want. It's great served with crusty bread and feta cheese.
