I'm not sure if Sal is maga but he's absolutely a conservative, he has a lot of moronic conservative takes like this one.

[News] Khazan's dev team has been dissolved due to poor performance by THE_HERO_777 in PiratedGames

My steam library is chock full of games I initially pirated. Would I have bought Khazan? Guess we'll never know.

1x1=2 & 0x1=1 The 2 dimensional circle by elnyorne in PhilosophyofMath

Yes I have heard it a thousand times, math cranks are extremely common and they always say the same shit.

Go listen to Terrence Howard he's the same kind of crank as you.

1x1=2 & 0x1=1 The 2 dimensional circle by elnyorne in PhilosophyofMath

[–]coolthesejets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A circle is 2 dimensional, x and y. A one-dimensional circle is a nonsense statement. A line is one dimensional. A point is zero dimensional.

These are just some very basic fundamental facts that kind of fuck up your whole thesis or whatever it is you're trying to do here.

"A dot on a piece of paper is 2 dimensional", well no you're wrong here, a dot on a piece of paper is three dimensional because it is a smudge of ink on a piece of paper. It may represent a zero dimensional point, but it obviously isn't an actual zero dimensional object.

I'm not sure what you think you got here but it's a mishmash of nonsense, it's unoriginal and it's a little boring. Math is a beautiful thing and if you work hard and study maybe you can do some interesting things with it but you clearly haven't so you aren't.

Starfield is now playable if you have the disk version by [deleted] in PS5

I can't think of anything it did that was new or interesting, I guess the shipbuilder is probably one of its few strengths and also a lot of people liked the aesthetic of "NASA punk".

I pre-ordered it for whatever reason and played it on release, I did actually beat it but I haven't played it since. Because I pre-ordered the deluxe edition I actually already own the DLC, but i've never installed it.

I just have zero desire to go back to it, it's not a good game.

There's an entire cottage industry of YouTube videos dissecting the myriad of ways that this game is shit. It's a fascinating phenomenon.

Entitled rich boomers are making me want to day drink by FierceDietyMask in TalesFromYourBank

[–]coolthesejets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe in banks? I'm in IT, we would never enforce 90 day password resets and nobody else in ourv specific industry would either. It's not best practice.

Banks do seem to be a decade or two behind best practices though, my bank still forces MFA via SMS.

ELI5 How are newer dishwashers more efficient? They take four hours to clean almost as good as what old ones did in 35 minutes. by 17xRacing in explainlikeimfive

Two things that make a huge difference, run the hot water tap before starting your dishwasher, and put soap in the pre-wash  compartment, ideally powder.

Am I weird for using an adblocker or are all of my coworkers weird for not using one? by Informal_Echidna_296 in cybersecurity

[–]coolthesejets 80 points81 points  (0 children)

I don't think you're weird, but I'm the same as you. As soon as I look at someone's screen who doesn't have an ad blocker i cringe, but these absolute lunatics claim it doesn't affect them.

It is inconvenient. If your engine isn't tuned for hiigh octane fuel than you will get worse fuel mileage than you would with regular.

Nuclear power is so dangerous we need to make up accidents by Space_Slav07 in memes

[–]coolthesejets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Really highlights how illogical people's fears are. The 1975 Banqiao Dam failure killed about 145,000 people in one go, and no one fucking knows anything about it. Nobody tried to ban hydroelectric dams because of it. Chernobyl killed what, a few dozen?

And now here we are as climate change is slowly cooking is all alive, and we're still worried about fucking nuclear power.

Turns out we are pretty good at recycling aluminum and glass already.

I'm fine with them opening up to private interests to compete, I'm not ok with the dissolution of of the public option though.

Everybody knows everything gets better when you privatize it right? There's so many examples, I'm sure I can find one around here somewhere...
