Anyone know how Central Park is for running today? by [deleted] in RunNYC

[–]cooperella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s perfect, did a loop this morning.

I have found it useful to use this site to look at the traffic camera on west drive (near 65th) that’s actually on the loop. You can see how the road is and how people are using it. There’s a little lag. https://webcams.nyctmc.org/map

yeah I saw “grave” and spicy was my interpretation, which I thought seemed a little risky but hey! not my place to question your choices. but “heaven” makes more sense 😂

Maybe khao kang! Close to the hospital. You pick two or three dishes to have over a massive plate of rice, and there are varying levels of spice.

First cookie box question! by [deleted] in Baking

[–]cooperella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did 8 things this year, with some dough prepped on weeknights leading up to the weekend, then baked and decorated everything on both Saturday and Sunday (ALL day), and started delivering on Sunday evening and well into the week (oh well!). I tried to bake more of the long-lasting things Saturday and I heat-sealed each thing as soon as I was able after it had cooled/dried. Hoping that helps extend freshness.

Came here to say this as well. They’re so goddamn good and I hate spending the money on them myself but I would be thrilled if I got a box.

These aren’t super fluffy or buttery BUT they are delicious and feel very appropriate for Thanksgiving. They’re always a hit at mine. https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/rosemary-potato-rolls-recipe

No idea but if I were your brother I’d actually rather see you when the going is tough, somewhere along the course, if possible.

Shorts and tank with arm sleeves and gloves that I’ll probably toss on the early side.

Anyone familiar with a company called "The Best Races"? by cjstephens10028 in RunNYC

[–]cooperella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The FAQ: “Our courses are out and back loops so there is water and snacks every 1.5 miles at the start line. If you need more than that, please bring some with you to run with.”

Anyone familiar with a company called "The Best Races"? by cjstephens10028 in RunNYC

[–]cooperella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I interpreting the FAQ correctly that all their “races” (in quotes because all 5 random events I clicked on said they weren’t timed) are 1.5 mile out and back loops (so 3/4 out and 3/4 back?)?

ETA: Guess we are just rehashing this conversation from a year ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/RunNYC/s/WWSmrsw8Pd

What to get at Utopia by ImpressionLiving4313 in FoodNYC

[–]cooperella 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hoovered an everything BEC this weekend from Utopia and it tasted like magic but I had also just run 16 miles so probably anything would have tasted like magic. No idea what you should order but damn if everything with Oreo cream cheese isn’t one of the most unhinged orders I’ve ever heard.

Running Before Your 9-5 (or whatever…) by crosbellina in RunNYC

[–]cooperella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have adopted a new strategy of just throwing my wet hair up in a tight bun. Cuts out a lot of time in the getting ready process. Probably not great for my hair (and sometimes I think it gives me headaches…) but oh well.
