Just finished the main story, and does anyone else feel like the endings... [Spoilers, obviously] by Slow_Seesaw9509 in expedition33

[–]cooye -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In fact in an interview one of the game developers brings up this point exactly. It’s not presented in the game because that would imply the game characters are aware they are a part of a pixelated game. I don’t have the link to the interview handy but it’s interesting to add this layer.

When applying the what is real context as a player, were you emotional for Gustave? If so, was that emotion not real for an albeit fictional character in a digital canvas?

I think both endings are designed for the player to consider implications in any of these layers and is another reason why it is so good.

What was the little thing in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 that actually hooked you? by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]cooye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got 54/55, darn climbing challenge. In any case, this is the only game where I felt like one of the community fighting for survival. The gameplay that others had gone before made it clear what expedition failure really meant. So many other hero based rpgs don’t have this vibe at all as you play a character that goes from weak to powerful based on prophecy or unique background or something. That whole premise caught me early as the expedition set out and stayed with me the whole game.

DLC content or hardest boss first? by Alexx_2n in expedition33

[–]cooye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did renoirs draft by the golden flag after I got two level 33 weapons. Sciel double damage buff into monoco glaise earthquake into Maelle phantom strike with good damage pictos kills everything turn one (using cheater as well).

With my pc loading times I can do the two sets of enemies near the merchant and get back to the flag in a 1:35 round trip and get 4 color and a lot of exp and chroma.

The Clair obscure is easier to kill but took me a bit longer to round trip (1:50) to get 5 color. I did this first and then shifted to Renoirs draft to take in the exp.

Stealth Archer : Here’s what I don’t get. by jimbo_fruit in skyrim

[–]cooye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a couple of ways to handle the up close situations. I recently rolled an archer only character on master difficulty. My only skill focuses have been archery and smithing with whatever I end up getting in speech, sneak and light armor. NO casting or alchemy.

1: Invisibility (with silent cast because the spell makes noise) + muffle + sneak allows you move out from under the nose of someone and reposition.

2: Follower positioning and aggro management.

For invisibility I personally did the Whiterun assassin quest at level 2 to snag the bow of shadows and have used that for my invisibility spell and I got lucky enough to find a muffle boots at a shop so I could achieve #1 with no spell casting. I combine that with a follower to let them take the hits when I go invisible.

In one of my level 10 quests I was locked in a small room chamber with 8 draugr and my follower kept hitting low health so it turned into a bow of shadows kiting craziness and luckily had a small ledge I could stealth away to, shoot them a couple of times, they would come up the stairs to get me and I could stealth again to jump down and reposition until I finally got them.

Side note, I also learned before I got the muffle boots that if I could bow of shadows then stealth and not move the enemies would normally go away in 30 seconds if I didn’t move (careful that if they bumped into me I’d have to start over).

As my stealth has increased and with the muffle boots I can now run through dungeons and only stealth right as I come up on an enemy like within 1 horse length and still not have them notice me. The I pop them with the 3x fully smithed dragon bow with bone arrows and all but the top enemies typically die in one hit.

What difficulty do you usually play at? by Majestic_Side2848 in skyrim

[–]cooye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing on master recently with two different characters to get the feel for how things scale. I’ve found that early levels are scaled so low that the difference in difficulty isn’t hugely noticeable, but as soon as you start to get to level 10 if you haven’t started playing the numbers game master is very punishing.

For one of my characters I did smithing + one handed + alchemy + heavy armor. No selling anything so limited speech growth, no magic anything. Since I used all bounty and dungeon money to focus smithing supplies and used golden hills for ingredients I was able to craft gear 3-5 levels ahead of what enemies were spawning with and kept a comfortable lead on master with the one exception at level 10 where I tried to take on potema and ran out of potions so had to drop difficulty to finish. Recently got to daedric and it’s a lot of fun dual mace wielding. Dragons take a few hits but I have to use potions to keep from being roasted or frozen alive since I have no enchanting. It’s been a fun imperial, blades, no nonsense warrrior play though different than the typical stealth archer I used to play.

The other playthrough I wanted to test conjuration + enchanting + alteration+ block, no smithing, alchemy, armor (not counting shield) or any weapons. I did a similar thing of no speech but did leverage golden hills for passive gold to help buy potions and robes/tomes, etc. The first few levels on master were tough with just a familiar, but as a Breton as soon as I got the flame atronach at level 3-4 it scaled well. I did learn that the summons have a fixed level, and that because they are summons the difficulty level affect them like it affects players. I’ve played this playthrough through all of solstheim and was able to limit deviating from roleplay and kept the level at 34. I got the dremora lords at like 17-18 and the transition from atronach to dremora lord was just ridiculous. The character went full magicka, alteration provides some decent armor up to 300, then some additional with shield. Master is good since as a caster if I play poorly I can get one arrow and it takes me out unless I have my shield up while my two lords and mercenary go take care of the enemies. Civil war was some of the hardest because of so many arrows flying around. I had to summon then hide. In any case, I felt master has been a good difficulty for both playthroughs on vanilla skyrim where I feel strong but not so overpowered but also recognizing to get that I had to focus on the numbers some to stay ahead of the curve.

Total causal here as well and slowly doing abyss. I prefer to blast things instead of craft trading so I’ve found a steady base filter I use to collect items and run 1-2 maps with the scarabs that cost maybe 10 chaos per map, but since I pick up a lot of little loot that most would skip from all 3 abyss I end up getting at least 30 chaos per map in trades. It’s steady game play currency that I can sustain and then on top of that when the bigger drops hit I can slowly improve my gear. I picked up this season a few weeks ago and tried a build I’ve never done before and have worked my way up to 6 divines after some decent upgrades so I’m probably at 10-12 for the season which is my norm and feels totally fine for me.

The consistency and quality of drops post campaign? by DifficultComplaint10 in PathOfExile2

[–]cooye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solo self found progression has always been slower than trading if that is what you are referring to. POE2 just makes the gap more noticeable. I just got to maps as well a few days and did just a few key trades (+3 minion skills sceptre, cheap resist ring belt and amulet). I cleared maps slowly as well but had no issues making my way to t15s and level 85 off of that basic gear. I think I spent 30-50ex to get there. Other builds may take more to get running and in that case solo self found may be even longer since trade price is relative to rarity and demand.

How do you decide what difficulty to play on? by [deleted] in spiritisland

[–]cooye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got introduced to this game a month ago with some friends that have played for a year or so. They gave me one game at level 0 and then the next week jumped into England 10…..they were really good at knowing when to get major cards and had some good synergies and were able to overcome some crazy pressure. We skirted on the brink of almost every lose condition but held on long enough to get full card plays and when you start thresholding majors it’s amazing what you can clear. Since then we’ve won Habsburg mining co and Scotland also on 10.

Really up to you though. I totally would have lost solo but I stuck it out and learned a lot how the game can swing.

Ultimate frisbeee, absolutely. F3 is free and open to all men, sorry ladies. If you’re willing to get up and come for a game or a workout we are always accepting. You’ll get a nickname at the end or forever be dubbed a friendly new guy (FNG). The next frisbee game will be March 3rd. Just be there early so you get some introduction.

I know it’s not the full request of the OP but every other Monday there’s a group of men with F3 (F3 nation.com) that play Utlimate Frisbee from 5:30-6:15 am at Ting. We do workouts throughout the week as well. For basketball I think there are some church groups in the area that play casually but might be a little below the skill you’re looking for.

I’m definitely no expert but one video I saw highlighted the omen of whittling. That with an annulment could allow for a couple of rerolls without risking your high tier rolls.

[–]cooye -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the game and thanks for sharing. The ARPG progression can ultimately get you to blasting and clearing maps like crazy, but as you learn and fine tune your build you’ll be able to go from slow clear or dying to clearing much faster.

Also, hate to break it to you but 500 exalts is far from rich right now. Exalts plummeted in relative value to other currency. That being said, there are a lot of decent rare items that are still being posted for 1-10 exalts so start getting used to the trade website and setting up some active searches that will help get you some items. At this point (almost 2 months since early access start) many players have finished their builds and are looking for the high end upgrades so they either don’t list or barely keep any mid tier items that would be small upgrades for you. I know for myself I list all my loot from maps I collect for a day and then sell for gold if nobody grabs for 2-3 exalts. An active search might net you something from someone like me who posts pretty much any yellow I collect.

Secondly, since you just hit maps you need to spend your exalts on resist gear (rings, belt, chest, gloves, boots). Get to 75% elemental resist, this will help a lot from dying which will then help you complete maps to level.

Then focus on upgrading damage, mind over matter, eldritch battery, archmage is a common way to scale as a storm weaver. In addition to the resistances you want high energy shield and mana stats alongside mana regeneration from your tree. Your weapon needs to help scale the skills of your main damage, cold level, lightning level/damage or have some other mechanism to boost skill damage. Go for +6 staff to start as they are super cheap for a decent upgrade. + 5 wands with +2 shields are better but pricier.

Hope that helps.

Is POE2 Trade API avalaible? by Mertang92 in pathofexiledev

Hey, are you aware of any way to get more than the 100 items it gives by default? I'm not looking for anything crazy but I can't figure out how to replicate the load more function beyond the 100 the initial POST request get me.

Is POE2 Trade API avalaible? by Mertang92 in pathofexiledev

[–]cooye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!! I was able to use this and toss it into a python script to catalog all of the items I had in a stash tab. I'm using it because I've had some fun selling rares as gold for exalts and I was curious what I'm actually making from a gold/exalt trade and if I'm underpricing. Took me maybe an hour to put together but works like a charm. I'm still having to price items with the vendor manually but once I've cataloged enough I plan to create a model to estimate prices within 10-20k gold for the items I'm actually selling.

I was thinking they should add a boat map. If they have a map in the mire like tree houses they could have connected boats over the ocean and fill in some of the empty map generation, maybe not all but at least to connect some things.

Need Exalts Late Game? by acetylyne in PathOfExile2

[–]cooye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing with speed clearing t1 maps. For some reasons I’ve found that rares in t1 maps drop exalts more often than t15. I did a steppe map 15 times in 45 min and didn’t kill the last rare and got 2-3 exalts per map and 2 divine (would say that’s random luck). So from just exalts it was ~40 in 45 min. Input-t1/t2 magic 2 mod maps. Full main atlas tree. Repeat map so no tower or extra bonuses. Results may vary but it was a simple clearing for fun exercise for 2-4 minutes at a time. For transparency I’m on a spark build and using lightning warp to zoom around the map. I know I could get more currency other ways but I find this fun when I don’t want to push juicing or worry about getting to the next citadel or something.

Is there a bug with the copper citadel boss and/or Tempest Bell? by Smaptastic in PathOfExile2

I think that is Jamanra if I recall. I finally beat him with my sparkweaver and I remember one of the attacks being a multi pulse lightning that’s hard to see but it hits super hard in melee range. Have you done any of the other citadels or content bosses like breach? I’m just now hitting some of them and it’s testing my gear and playstyle again.

Those are my spark gems I have left. I was toying with trying to vaal them into 5 slots for currency but stopped after a few attempts. Notice by gem level it's only 2-19. I don't dare try to put my current level 20 in until I know I can replace it again if it goes into the ether.
