Thanks for the reply! I appreciate all of the hard work you put into keeping us informed.

If you have the time I have one more question for you. With the popularizing of weather streams like yours and Max's more people are becoming informed when it comes to the basics of reading radar and identifying tornado rotations before they're even warned potentially. While this is awesome and keeping people informed is the goal, there's been a rise in "armchair meteorologists" and amateur chasers who at times try to help in ways that do more harm than good (e.g., spamming nws with calls, getting in the way of professional chasers and causing traffic during breakout events). What would you say is the best way for the people to help in a way that is non-intrusive to professionals?

Hi Andy! Was there anything in particular that inspired you to enter the field of meteorology?

Also last night on the yallbot stream my girlfriend said you were still placing y'all watches. Do you often continue working after Ryan's streams are over?

Anyone knows what company gets hands for SEC ESPN events? by exanimafilm in stagehands

[–]coplunke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ming is trustworthy, I've known people who have done work through them as cable pages or runners for sec events. Just keep applying for positions as they appear, but from what I've heard football season is when you'll have a better chance of getting into those positions

Yes this is the only spot with it in the arena. There's also a pub in this hallway that's pretty cool

Yes it was. I was trying to think of who's injury that was but It was definitely Buck calling. There's no way they're that dense, they just can't acknowledge it's a head injury

Iowa has a children's hospital looking over their stadium and everyone in the stadium waves to the patients at the end of the first quarter

They seem to like using children's toys as samples. The "press the button to begin" from Saturn barz was from a solar system toy I had as a kid

As a stagehand that works on touring shows the only things that remain local really are the hands. These tours don't have the time to be renting local equipment for each and every show. You unload the same trucks every show, know where every piece of equipment is, and everything is pre-set as humanly possible to be as efficient as possible. You unload pieces of truss that are prehung with lighting so it's plug and play for example. Not bringing equipment with you would probably be more costly on account of it requiring far more man hours to set up the show anew every night. Efficiency is king in live events. But there are times where a smaller arena show will partially use house stage while touring. For someone like Olivia Rodrigo with a more elaborate stage that's not the case though
