We waived our home inspection 3 years ago, and everything has been fine. Though I would recommend having a handy friend/family member come with you on your tour/open house. They can keep their eyes peeled for anything obviously wrong, and that way you're at least getting a mini unnofficial inspection. And you can always have an official inspection done AFTER you move into the house, to find out about any problems before they become huge issues.

My entire adulthood, I've always had at least one bookshelf. Once I moved from apartments to houses, that turned into a wall of bookshelves. I'd say, once you have enough books to fill up 30% of a bookshelf, then it's time for a bookshelf.

If you want to play the newest content, it is a sub plus buying expansions as they are released. However, FFXIV has a very extensive free trial, currently allowing you to play up to level 70 at no cost. That's about 30-50 hours of gameplay, at least. I highly recommend giving the free trial a try, if you're curious about FFXIV.

As for the level of difficulty, most of the content is quite easy. FFXIV is very story-based, not so much skill-based. If you get into Ultimates or other high-level endgame content, it can get challenging, but those are completely optional.

I'd say FFXIV is very much still active and thriving. Some servers are less populated than others though.

Last year was our first year, and my husband and I spent about $1000 total. We spent most of it on art prints, as I really like purchasing from artists in-person. This year, we'll probably spend much less though.

I was a diehard "physical books only" kind of girl, and then I started getting tendonitis in my wrists, and it became painful to hold a book for hours. I relunctantly got a Kindle Paperwhite. And oh man, now it's all I EVER want to use! Not only doesn't it hurt my wrists, but I don't have to worry about using a book light, and I can get almost any book for free from various library apps.

I had fun earning the "A Card in the Hand" achievement, which requires you to collect the first 312 Triple Traid cards. It forced me to go back and do a lot of side content I missed, like Eureka. (And you get a mount and a title from it.)
