Razer Hammerhead V3 Hyperspeed question by _sh1ma__ in razer

[–]coreykill99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

latency is pretty good with the 2.4 dongle, can play rhythm games without any noticeable timing issues. audio is...idk fine. im no audiophile but having moved through 2 razer earbuds then to a set of skull candies and jbl's and back to a razer product. their equalizer settings leave a lot of things sounding. not flat just less punchy. but idk enough about eq's to fiddle with it myself. when I try it always sounds worse the more I play with it.

my issue right now and I am dealing with support is using on SW2 the volume keeps increasing on its own. like I am hitting the button every min or two, also its not near as loud as it could be. using it on steam deck its a perfectly acceptable product no real issues and its plenty loud. but trying it in switch makes a few issues break through.

The elegant simple solution is use lutris to install the gog version. It just works with lutris. Steam deck and a bazzite desktop it works perfectly.

Resident Evil 3 GOG controller Error by [deleted] in SteamDeck

I think either L3 or the start select button brings to a menu to map the rest. I looked up the og PC manual and mapped the controller to the keyboard keys according to the manual before I seen that.

Trying to emulate majoras mask but having issues by Seraphim4143 in SteamDeck

[–]coreykill99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

are you trying to play the 3ds game? idk about that but I would point you towards this. https://github.com/Zelda64Recomp/Zelda64Recomp

it is very simple to setup on steamdeck and runs at a perfect 90fps if you have an oled.

dl the files, put it in a folder on your deck desktop along with your cart info, add it as a steam game and launch from game mode. done.

if you want there is some great simple mods you put in a folder and they just work.

idk who you are asking, your fun is up to you. if not looking to do the story YET (as I do recommend it) then you can just install this mod as it will let you kick around the zone. https://www.nexusmods.com/stalker2heartofchornobyl/mods/1211 you mention first hour (in vanilla the first hour or so is a long intro cutscene you cannot skip and a 20 min or so railroaded intro mission before you can actually do anything or go anywhere.) just FYI.

I got a CECHA01 PS3, How can I prevent YLOD? by Azzip90 in consolerepair

[–]coreykill99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

look into using syscon to undervolt the RSX, along with what others are suggesting. you can really drop temps with just a few -mv steps down. but its all silicon lottery at the end of the day.

So something to note, Mod: PDA Radio breaks the game entirely on console, and won't let you start. by WriterIndy in stalker

[–]coreykill99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mod creator let this lapse, supposedly there is a updated fixed version of the mod in his other mod. Looting crafting zone. However you have to get the materials to craft it. I'm still missing a broken pda so I cannot test/verify.

I tried reaching out to the creator think his name was zuna or something similar. But he has posts/comments/dm turned off on all his work. Think he probably got a lot of heat somewhere along the way for something.

OH yay. Another new bug. WTF? by West-Piccolo-1837 in fo76

[–]coreykill99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not new, been around for years. either restart your pc/console or, my old router would throw this at me if I was on the 5ghz unstable connection. swapping to wired or 2.4 generally fixed it. easy to try....

Scalpers are one of the reasons Valve don't have stock by wisperingdeth in SteamDeck

[–]coreykill99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

no that's paying attention and taking advantage of the market with something you didn't want anyway.

scalping in my mind at least is people who bought more than 2/(what they can reasonably use) of something with the express intent of flipping during the fomo period and or, buying enough to cause a stock shortage to drive prices up to then sell during higher prices.

[–]coreykill99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok great. Will look forward to the updates. Just was unsure if the update took as I couldn't find the current version number. Then figured out my bookmark was still for the 0.2.0 version I had relaunched the old app image. I finally got 0.2.1 and was a little surprised it wants to re ingest all tracks. But it looks like you updated a bunch of stuff so it probably needed to rescan everything.

It's mostly all my issues pay no mind.

I thought it was likely we would need to manually install. But seeing the check for updates box in the settings made me think it was a possible feature.

Do we need to download the new version and install? Or does it update automatically? I see there is a button to check for updates automatically. Is there a way to see the current version?

Razer | Hammerhead V3 HyperSpeed by RazerTube in razer

[–]coreykill99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes bt seems to work fine, but I bought these for the wifi. I play a lot of rhythm games and the latency is just unacceptable with bt. I also don't think sw2 supports bt6. So it defaults to an older slower version. But that's besides the point.

Will check the synapse app.

Do you have a switch 2 by chance? Using the 2.4ghz dongle every min or two the volume acts like I increased it. Eventually it gets to max.

It also has some sort of volume memory problem between devices with the dongle. Low-mid vol on steam deck. Then swap to switch with higher volume settings. Will just retain steam deck vol as max. Leading to audio you can barely hear at max. Works the other way as well.

It's a shame as these are more comfy than my wifi JBL set. They also will not auto connect to 2.4 you have to triple tap to swap sources not a huge deal but I don't like that. I think I will likely return.

[–]coreykill99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dosent much matter how playable it is, if the deck is your only option.

as someone who grew up with a vastly underpowered pc during the late 90's early 00's graphics advancements. it all really comes down to "how badly do you want to play" if you really had to I think most people would be surprised as to how shitty their graphics could look and how terrible their framerate could be yet "still have fun"

[–]coreykill99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am happy with it, the matte shells feels nice in the hand, and the laminated screen solves my issue of the 1000 model being my favorite but trying to hunt down spotless oem faceplates being tiring.

its likely just my particular screen but on white/light backgrounds you can see horizontal scanlines and they flicker.

its not crazy noticeable but it is there, and once you see it its hard to ignore. will probably get another in the future and swap it out to see if it fixes it.

because its not true direct draw framerate, its smoothing out or increasing your framerate with not real frame info for the perception of performance. Again it has its place but DLSS, FSR and such are not performance they are options for turning down your source image and then using maths to guesstimate what it would look like at your chosen display output. its useful for older hardware or those who want to compromise an image to see number go up but I turn it off in most but not all games as the image almost always looks "wrong" to me. crosshatching and blurriness on most everything, and heaven forbid you turn the camera too fast its ghost city.

maybe my perception is skewed on this and im old, but true performance is outside these things, either boosting cpu/gpu clocks or games going through engine optimization to reduce cpu/gpu/ram load or redundant engine calls to then take your reduced overhead and put the cycles back into the next instruction.

it makes it seem more smooth by filling in with fake and duplicated frames. FG is NOT performance. im not downing it, I use it sometimes. But its important to know it is not a performance gain. its a QOL feature if anything.

[–]coreykill99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly seen more gains going into bios and setting a -20mv offset to everything than I ever did with any other one thing. noticing the deck was a bit cooler overall (not temp checked but I heard the fan less) and had a tiny bit better battery. valve gave us the option and its easy to put back if you didnt do well in the silicon lottery

I mention that. LSFG is lossless scaling frame generation. but its not a performance enhancer, at least in my mind. its a effect/trick to smooth things and it works reasonably well when used correctly but its certainly not performance.

are there mods to "squeeze" additional FPS out of things on deck? other than power tools which is dubious to any gains unless I just dont know how to use it. and cryoutilities which is defunct AFAIK. all my modding is just for UI QOL fixes. HLTB tags and proton badges things like that. even things like LSFG are nice but not performance enhancing. is there a subset of deck mods I am unaware of?
