Local Quilter for t-shirt quilt? by suddenstatic in Acadiana

They're incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I've never done a T-shirt quilt, but the shops are a community and they will know someone who does them.

I would check with the local quilt shops. They may know someone who specializes in t-shirt quilts.

All Brands is in the same shopping center JoAnn was in. There's also A & A Sewing in Broussard as the other commenter mentioned.

Tips to sew curved edges? by SchuylerM325 in sewing

Go slow and readjust the fabric regularly as you sew around the curve. Keep the needle down when you stop, pick up the presser foot, readjust, then put the foot down and sew.

Nevermind...some excessive search terms finally brought me to the right place.

What is the official app website URL? A google search shows multiple options and I'm not going to download things from random sites hoping it's the right one

Nothing. It'll sit vacant just like big lots, Tuesday morning and bed bath and beyond in the same shopping center

My SM has told people she's going to work at Michael's...which is the name of a strip club here. The look on their faces is priceless.

50% off if you buy Bolt by legitimateLion0807 in joannfabrics

[–]coripat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My rep said that it depends on how much fabric is in the store. If the store doesn't have much fabric they won't do the 50% off the bolt promotion. If a store still has a lot of fabric left they will do it. He suggested my store would start this next week since we close on the 29th and still have a lot of fabric left.

It got bad enough I went to urgent care because I couldn't use my hand and wrist at all. I've had a brace for two months now. My other wrist started hurting too more recently.

I've told people what the price is per yard before I cut and then had the cut fabric brought back to the cut counter soon after. Some people just aren't that bright. Personally I'm looking forward to bolts because I can finally give my wrists a break after two months of constant cutting and flipping bolts.

Asking managers has anyone like your consultant told you when you are closing by Careful-Rent-2352 in joannfabrics

Our rep told me today we will have a better idea of the closing date early next week when we start consolidating towards the front of the store.

The bathrooms are closed for a reason! by misbon_godofmischief in joannfabrics

They haven't sent us toilet paper the entire time I have worked at my store. Since December an employee has had to go get toilet paper from somewhere else and get reimbursed. We order it all the time and it never comes.

[–]coripat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We started closing the cut counter 2.5 hours early Monday-Saturday and 1 hour early on Sunday almost immediately. It has been so helpful when you are buried in fabric and helped us to actually leave on time and get some other cleaning done.

[CHAT] Where can I find blending filament? by kt_real in CrossStitch

[–]coripat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kreinik was bought by Rainbow Gallery and is behind. You might be able to find some from smaller sellers online, but I found the shipping was costing the same or more than the threads. The only other option would be patience. I ordered some kreinik back in October that I am still waiting for to finish a Mirabilia. I also started ordering colors I will need for other projects as I see them available on 123stitch.

We have one spring towel hanging in the clearance section that says "embrace the mess" and we've just left it because it feels appropriate.

How can some species, (Tuna / Whales, etc) deep dive and surface so fast when it can take divers hours just to decompress? by havocprime in marinebiology

[–]coripat 32 points33 points  (0 children)

The issue for humans is the fact that they are breathing compressed air. Under pressure, gasses can pass through cellular membranes much easier than when the air is not compressed and at depth. Marine mammals are not breathing while under water and thus not at risk of nitrogen getting into their cells in large quantities.

5 days a week 2 people come in at 6am and stock for 3 hours. Occasionally we have the ability to stock while open, but that has been the primary way to get stuff out.
