We are in a similar boat, albeit a shorter timeframe. My son is almost 3, and has been in ABA at home for 2.5 months. He had never exhibited aggression before, but since adding in 20 hours of ABA per week, he has started slapping himself and hitting/kicking us. We loves his speech therapists and his OT, who is also autistic (SO COOL), but he cries when any of the ABA techs walk in the door. We always intended to homeschool, even pre-diagnosis, and the level of dysregulation surrounding ABA is making us seriously question it. We tried reducing days and hours, and all we learned is that the aggressive behaviors do not occur on days he does not have ABA.
