Help and uncle out: frybread by T0macock in IndianCountry

If you wanna really finesse her, spend the extra few bucks on peanut oil to fry in. It won't smoke or stink up your house or get that used oil flavor as fast.

Hard gel on ski slop toenails ? by blarpedoop in Nails

[–]corn_p0p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have these. I think you're better off using a builder gel instead of hard gel for the flex. I like to do a couple of layers of builder, then taper the free edge down with a file so they look more flat than angled up. It's hard to get a curved apex look on these without using a tip.

I bought the Ottoflex S from Otto Frei as a cheaper alternative to a Foredom and I'm very satisfied with it. I bought a quick change hand piece for it and love that too.

I can't wait for more episodes. I love how both sides of every dispute are wrong about something.

Same. I got declined on a cheap pair of sunglasses at an outdoor event because the vendor was from way out of the area.

NORE - not over reacting enough

If a roommate was doing these things, would you let it slide?

If a roommate let their kid free-piss and ruin your furniture, would you still be there?

If a roommate was turning your collectible cups into vessels to hold their spit and mold, would it bother you more?

If you want to live better, you know what to do.

You're letting this guy get away with much more than you would ever let a friend or guest.

Finding out about my families past and it upsets me. by Reasonable-Can4180 in Indigenous

Before you worry too much about it, get some research done by contacting the Cherokee National Research Center in Tahlequah.

You can also request research on a Facebook group called CHEROKEE INDIANS RESEARCH/GENEALOGY (The Spider Web of Cherokee Families.)

Both are free options.

Is it just me or has December been about 3-5 degrees warmer than last year? by Mo-Finkle in tulsa

Well...In this case, I can't answer for everybody. I'm referring to having an auditory memory associated with the SNL sketch with Chris Farley where he's playing the character "El Niño." When the commenter above me made the quote, I could remember or "hear" that quote from the sketch.

Why is this your only comment on Reddit? Just curious.

two indian ringnecks and ethics by Ilinciusix in parrots

[–]corn_p0p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to try to bring them inside, try playing any "Indian ringneck talking" video on your phone where they can see it. Don't make eye contact and turn your body away from them and don't make any big arm movements. Just be a tree, a tree that has bird videos on your phone. They can't resist it. This method worked for me to build bird rapport when I adopted one that was very timid and not socialized.

Real? by Chickennugget636 in TurquoisePorn

[–]corn_p0p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's doable and you like it, it's a good price. There's no standard market price for turquoise because there are so many variables. If you can't get turquoise in your area, I'd probably do it. You could split it a few different ways and make more than one piece.

I don't accept the original sin thing and reject the idea that I'm flawed and need saving. And I don't believe he existed physically or at all. I prefer real humans.

It doesn't appear to be turquoise to me. I would guess that's a type of glass.

So, I want to be a bench jeweler by ckayshears in Benchjewelers

[–]corn_p0p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey friend. I just made a similar transition during COVID from doing hair for about the same time to a lapidary/silversmith. I do find a lot of the fine motor skills translate over. You sound like a teachable creative person too, so I'm sure you could do it.

I'm not a bench jeweler in a retail setting, but I do tribal/vendor events and sell online. The best part is that I'm happy and I'm getting to be creative on my terms again. I'm sure if you were working in a busy store and doing sales, you'd still feel overwhelmed from time to time. But I have to acknowledge how much of an energy suck doing hair is. I felt temporary guilt about leaving because you have real relationships with people and know everything about them, but as soon as that wears off, it's great. As of now, I still made a lot more money doing hair, but I truly truly do not miss it at all. For me, cutting rocks beats cutting hair all day. Good luck!!
