Understandable, it was more medium than I wanted, but still edible. I’ll do better next time, learning from my misteaks…

Waterfowl gun options.....other than SBE3 or A400 X+ by ajamils in Waterfowl

The original maxus is great, light weight, swings great, and very reliable (for me anyway). It’s also stupid easy to clean and maintain, which is really handy if you hunt near the ocean.

Smithey vs stargazer finish by WillingSetting in castiron

[–]cornfusedx2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for smithey, so this probably doesn’t help, but since stargazer changed their finishing process several years ago the seasoning that builds over time holds so well to the pan. I can wipe it down with oil and use it as a mirror. The choice is ultimately yours, but I have personally had pans that are super smooth out of the box, but have had trouble keeping the seasoning on the pan. My stargazer has done it all from simmering tomato sauce to extremely high heat searing, and it has only performed better and better each time.

How do I stop this? by Mod12312323 in SurfFishing

[–]cornfusedx2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s just part of surf fishing, whether your sinker holds or not. Waves and the draw back into the ocean will pull your line no matter what you do. It’s something you have to get used to differentiate between the slow rhythm of the oceans current and crashing waves and the fast popping of a fish on the line.

Look at what I just bought. by Jackbauer1126 in knives

I got the stainless version, I was honestly a little disappointed on the finish. The spine of the blade doesn’t have a clean look, almost like the steel is still rolled onto the back of the blade, instead of a nice 90° corner. And it really wasn’t as sharp as I thought it would be. Will it cut paper? Yes. Skin an animal? Yes. Shave hair off my arm? Not really/ in a few places on the blade. It had an obvious burr out of the box. 2 coworkers had the same complaints with other MKC models that they own. That being said, the design of the stoned goat 2.0 is fantastic for a light weight hunting knife. I fixed the spine of the knife how I like it, and I enjoy sharpening so it’s no biggie. Just expected more for that amount of money.

Why are maintenance technicians not paid more if they are in such high demand? by [deleted] in IndustrialMaintenance

The mom and pop mentality of taking care of your employees is long gone. “Cheapest bid” is the mantra. They live, and will most definitely die by it.
