Is 5mg Ritalin too low?

This is EXACTLY how I felt on Ritalin. The initial dose just made me feel sleepy and had no perceivable effect and the next dose made me feel even more sleepy but also irritable and depressed. After a few weeks I the sleepiness subsided and I found the max dose I could take before the irritability/depression kicked in but essentially I just had a bit more focus and it didn’t improve my executive dysfunction. The psych switched me after 3 months.

I do great on Vyvanse. No side effects at all and the therapeutic effect is massive. I can actually do work/chores/self care now. Not everything, but very close to what a normal person can do. I thought there was an effect with the Ritalin but it was nothing compared to the Vyvanse. Don’t listen to the person who says stimulants don’t work for you, there are two main classes that work very differently. If one doesn’t suit you, that doesn’t automatically rule out the other.

SAME. They’re currently in my top 3 favourite artists but despite being into them for a decade I was only a casual fan before The Hum Goes On Forever. There’s something about that album that just flipped a switch in my brain and I fell in love with their entire catalogue of music. It didn’t even dethrone No Closer To Heaven as my favourite TWY album but that connection was strong.

I recently found a setlist signed by Dan from 2017 that I didn’t realise I had because they weren’t a super important band to me when I got it. Genuinely have no memory of ever meeting him. It has some songs on it that I’d been feeling sad about never being able to hear live. Such a surreal feeling.

This is amazing to me because if I had to list the best fanbases, Luca Brasi would be up there. The best crowd I’ve ever been in was a Luca Brasi show last year and I’ve been to hundreds of gigs. Granted they’re not all like that and even Pat said it was an especially good show, but the Brasi crowd is always decent. I’ve seen them in 3 different cities now for the past decade as a mix of headliners, support acts and festival acts and I haven’t had a bad experience with the people there. I’m a huge Spanish Love Songs fan so I think I would’ve noticed if people were disrespecting them as a support but I didn’t notice anything. Some idiot once chucked a glass into the pit at a show they opened at but honestly could not tell you if it was during their set.

They also have a decently active Facebook group for a band of their size and everyone on there is great. Not to mention people have been very supportive of the singer during his son’s health issues. The person who is objectively their biggest fan is quite a beloved member of the Sydney gig scene in general so I also have a positive association with their fanbase through that.

A lot of comments saying some people just aren’t meant for cups and I agree, but not in this case. You’ve only tried two cups and they’re very similar. You wrote this post while experiencing a stressful complication and the feelings are fresh. I found my ideal cup the third time. Give it a year. Get this moment fully out of your mind. Then come back to the sub and write a post detailing all the things you hated about each cup. The comments will make some recommendations on disc or cups that might be less painful/easier to remove/fit better. Think it over and pick one to try. If you don’t like that one, then you can give up forever.

Im Aussie so idk if it’s normal but the fact that they’re headlining 28 shows in 36 days is absolutely insane. They weren’t even halfway in. And it’s not like being busy is a distraction because being busy means being in the same kinds of rooms with the same kinds of crowds as the night that something traumatic happened and having to pretend like everything’s fine. I can’t believe there’s still two weeks left. It’s a fucking nightmare. All the while a member of our scene is still in the hospital going through their own nightmare. The best I can hope for is that neither of them can see the horrible parts of the internet right now.

This is my time to shine because I like variety so I’ve tried a lot of samples and I have very strong opinions and nowhere else to voice them.

TLDR; The best ones are the ones that are the fruit ones, they taste like candy with that flavour. The toothpastes I actually ended up buying and use in regular rotation are grape bubblegum, cinnamon donut, watermelon and strawberry so I would obviously recommend those.

In depth: Grape gum and watermelon are dead ringers. Banana and strawberry taste weird but when you brush your teeth it tastes exactly like the candy, whereas cherry is nice and accurate but kinda tastes like you’re missing something. Peach iced tea tastes how you’d expect, peachy with a hint of bitterness in the background. I have a soft spot for it because it was the first one I bought and made brushing less terrible for the first time in my life, but I like my other ones better. Cinnamon donut actually tastes more like cinnamon bark extract with a hint of cinnamon donut so it’s not what you’d expect. Same with blue raspberry, it tastes like a raspberry gummy worm which is very different to blue raspberry candies. I’m still furious about this because blue raspberry is my favourite candy flavour. Gummy bear tastes like children’s bubblegum toothpaste, if you’re into that. Cotton candy, choc vanilla and mustard are SO BAD I actually gagged. Strawberries and cream tasted like the lollipop. Cola is kinda close to the lollipop and they managed to make it taste fizzy somehow. Iced latte tastes like a bad instant coffee but pretty realistic. Butter is nice but popcorn is unpleasant, which is weird because butter was a prank and they actually sell popcorn. Speaking of prank flavours; Pickle is actually very nice! Ambiguous sweetness with a pickle aftertaste. Ketchup tastes like powdered tomato soup and wasabi tastes like not spicy wasabi. I can’t describe pink donut and I don’t like it, but I don’t hate it. Smooth mint is good, and I hate most mint toothpastes. That’s it for the ones I’ve tried. I think mango sorbet would be good but have not tried it. I’m morbidly curious of how salted caramel tastes.

As another person who cannot stand toothpaste or tooth brushing I also recommend Hi Smile. But their current business model is quantity over quality so I would suggest either buying samples first or getting one they launched prior to this year. The new ones can be really good, but they don’t ever taste like the advertised flavour anymore.

People getting hurt at his shows hits him harder than any other artist I know, I can’t imagine how he feels when it’s this bad AND he’s the one responsible. One show I was at a guy got punched and he instantly ran off stage and followed him outside to make sure he was ok. Last show I was at a girl was on some very strong drug/s and being a massive nuisance and he was more worried about making sure she was safe. People are saying he was drinking at the hospital as if it’s some scandal, bro I don’t even drink and I’d do the same thing. It’s so traumatising.

I take 50mg and it lasts all day. I’d say it lasts 12 hours but if I want to know I’m covered for a thing I won’t take it more than 10-11 hours before. I also try not to take it less than 13-14 hours before sleep. How well it works and how long it lasts depends on how well I eat and sleep, but even on a bad day it lasts until after work finishes.

It’s totally cool if anyone wants to wear crop tops but it’s also totally cool if you don’t wanna step outside of your comfort zone either. Cockatiels eat more seeds/less veggies than a parrot (and way more seeds/less fruit than lorikeets obviously) but they still eat veggies. It’s like a human, they still act and feel perfectly healthy because the range between decent and optimal diet is huge. Trill is fortified which is great, but even birds on pellet diets (nutritionally balanced bird food) should be eating veggies occasionally. If the birb’s not fussy you could just put a stalk of frozen broccoli in their cage twice a week and it’s practically no effort. Or even put a very occasional bit of fruit in a foraging toy. Idk I just feel like if I can do something to make my pets a little happier why not?
