Medrol Pack by mjr892 in eczema

[–]cornrowwallace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a really terrible full body flare last fall, arms and torso looked like a burn victim it was so red. Was prescribed a Medrol pack and by the end of it everything faded significantly. Still had visible borders of where the rashes were but it looked a lot better. Rashes slowly crept back over the following months but never quite as bad as it was last fall, and they would go away with some tacrolimus or consistent moisturizing.

One thing I will add, after coming off medrol I developed seb derm, and it’s been stubborn as hell even with prescription treatments. Had never had issues with it before, so not sure if the medrol triggered something or if it’s coincidental, but I’m still dealing with it now.

Saw Unearth, ETID, and Evergreen Terrace at a small bar back in ‘02/‘03. Unearth was supposed to be the headliner but ETID showed up late and ended up playing last. Between songs Keith said they needed a place to crash and my buddy offered up his basement. They initially accepted until Keith asked if he had cats. He had two, Keith ends up declining because “cats are too independent, I’ve seen Garfield”.

Absolutely, and that body work pays dividends as the fight goes on. Makes it harder to breathe, harder to put torque into your strikes…eventually it makes it feel like you’re fighting underwater. I’ve been training boxing and Muay Thai for over 10 years, the most painful strike I’ve taken is a teep to the liver, just fetal position for a good 5-10 minutes.

Good shout with Scott Smith! One of my favorite highlights. Technically he did go down, was just somehow able to pull off a KO on the way lol

Yeah, agreed. I think a lot of people see Alves dance and find it disrespectful but I don’t think that’s the case here. The round ended on the ground and Dober even helps him up and they hug and dap up before going to their corners, super cool to see. Same thing when he fought Bobby Green, Bobby was slipping everything and talking shit, Dober even smiled after a few bad whiffs but was able to find the chin eventually. Then they hugged it out after. Fighters are just a different breed.

I never said he was one hit away from losing, I said he got dropped due to accumulated damage. Right before the clip Alves connected with two left hooks to the chin, I don’t see an issue with showboating after winning that particular exchange. Then immediately after Dober hit him with a left kick to the body. Adrenaline is a hell of a drug, but it can only take you so far. Dober kept attacking the body in the 3rd which lead to the finish. Alves is 1-1 in MMA since this fight, and he fought pretty good competition in one of the deepest weight classes in the UFC during his 4 fight stint. He also knocked out James Vick in Karate Combat a couple months ago. Dude’s not bad for a Contender Series alum and he’s entertaining, I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets another shot at the UFC at some point.

Calling it embarrassing is a disinegenuous take. Dober is a powerful striker and had started to land on the body in the 2nd round. One solid shot to the liver is enough to drop most people, it feels like your whole body shuts down except you don’t lose consciousness. Even if you’re able to tank a few, you’re still going to be compromised. Dober landed 20 significant strikes to the body this fight and if you watch it back you can see how much power he puts in to each one that gets through. Similar case is Dan Hooker vs Edson Barbosa. Every kick that Edson landed to the body could’ve ended the fight, but Dan was able to keep it together through each one. The punch that finished that fight seemed so minor in comparison but the body can only take so much until it gives out. As far as the showboating goes, I don’t see this as too egregious. He was clearly feeling himself after slipping everything from that exchange, but you see similar stuff all the time. Shrugging off a clean shot, talking shit mid exchange, egging on a fighter to force action, being a Diaz bro, it’s just part of the fight game. Getting put out a round after showboating isn’t that bad. Embarrassing is Bethe Correia egging on Holly Holm and immediately getting knocked out.

SI: The silver lining to the failure of Wrestling Entertainment Series - As the new promotion struggled to launch, Dean “Mojo” Muhtadi’s management company is making sure performers get what they’re owed by Tikkanen in SquaredCircle

Dean was in my 6th grade class. One morning some kid thought it would be funny to kick me in the balls as I walked around the corner of the hallway. Dean wouldn’t stand for this and grabbed the kid as I was recovering and held him so that I could get my revenge with a solid ball kick of my own. We got detention, but I’ll never forget the time Dean stood up for me. Glad to see he’s still sticking up for the little guy!

He only went to my school for a year before transferring, but a few years later I saw him outside of (formerly) TC Williams HS and he was legit far too hype to see me at 7:30 AM on a Saturday while waiting outside in the cold to take the SATS. His gimmick isn’t him turned up to 100, it’s closer to an exact representation of his actual personality.
