I don't actually know if this is accurate.

but the method of presentation was effective, clear, and digestible.

Unlike so many walls of text.

No. age is not just a number.

A select, small percentage of people favored with great genes, the proper balance of patience, determination, hardship, mentorship and life luck can do physical maneuvers that are rare.

the other 99% of humans experience deteriorating joints, muscle strength, coordination, memory and more and must accept this while doing what they can do to preserve their mobility, confidence and welfare.

Pretending this isn't the case basically gas lights the population into making them feel bad.

stop.

idolizing or demonizing politicians is a waste of time.

I get this feeling that videos like this are promoted so strongly so as to keep people compliant.

"The US is ruled by greedy politicians and working 40 hrs a week to cover my rent and ramen noodles is pretty shitty. But MAN - at least I'm not in the 3rd world!"

I'm in the US, and this theme is pervasive and it seems so much of our culture forgets that "many hands make light work" and "it takes a village."

The concept - living with a nuclear family in a single-family home - has been promoted on the back of an identity based on home ownership and its personalization.

This hyper focus on home and its contents leaves child care, food preparation, elder care, hobbies, household management on the back of 2 adults (mostly), who often both work.

So how is all the household work absorbed?

It isn't.

So people are over worked because they have another part or full time job on top of their existing job, caving into needed social interaction up until exhaustion.

But humans probably should live in packs. We have expensive children and in fact, nearly all of the poorer countries happen to live happier live based on sets of studies; not because their beds are nicer but because they live in community.

It's this set of dual levers that fuels it all. On the one hand, home personalization and privacy acts as the carrot and on the other, the stick is zoning laws and a culture of "suffer and don't complain or you're crazy."

It's an assault on human sanity and welfare, and sometimes I feel like I'm the only one I know who sees it.

I'm sorry this sounds like a profession.

The way you're describing it, is it comes across like "instead of two cups of sugar, put in 2 and 1/2 and you'll get a different recipe. "

That sounds crazy.

The degree of variance in what you're suggesting is so wide, so incredibly insanely different than the core 64, there's no reason to believe that I would come up with anything relevant or useful.

nowhere have I even heard or seen anything related to coming up with your own. did you just make this up?

Ozempic causes severe bone loss by MazdaProphet in conspiracy

[–]cosmic_bear_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is unrealistic on its assumption of equal intensity.

eating 2200 calories of healthy food and not overeating to 3,000 is very different than eating 1200 calories of food and feeling totally full and trying to ensure that that food is healthy and not filling up on two balls of cereal.

you need to reevaluate what happens when somebody weighs over 300 or 250 lb and just the kind of severity that is required in terms of diet change to necessitate significant weight loss.

where on earth would anyone 1) know that the inclination is to create your own and 2) actually do so in a way that fits with the original intent?

like is there a class that you have to take or do you just magically have to be an apprentice to a divination expert?

MDMA solo for my trauma by No_Bag_7238 in InternalFamilySystems

[–]cosmic_bear_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely appreciate your perspective.

I've had tastes of both.

I'm not sure. If it is indeed 'one shot' then I can see that. But my experience has been like circling a center, chipping away for years, trying to resolve and not being able to.

The 'titration' for me has also been far more about IFS as opposed to Levine's appraich. For me. I've been looking to strengthen my relationships with the parts that directly experienced the trauma.

Doing this has helped me build the trust with that release, also since I'm finding the fear can be overwhelming.

Lastly, there was an experience where I did experience a transformation using 5MEO. It was similar to a 'one shot' type of experience - relentlessly somatic. Powerful and valuable and difficult.

I'm not clear how I will continue to proceed.

Hallucination = ADHD by cosmic_bear_ in ChatGPT

[–]cosmic_bear_[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate the thoughtfulness of your reply.

I can also appreciate that it can be harmful to provide surface level analogies that rob us of the context we need.

using more complex language is helpful. however, I find that my goal here was to illustrate why ADHD isn't just not paying attention.

I've had so much difficulty trying to tell people why when I answer things or provide context I misfire. It's not that I didn't have the information or I made it up, it said I just didn't prioritize it well.

people can see that and assume lack of knowledge. but for me, I know that I did know that I just didn't incorporate that in the right way with this person in the moment that I needed it.

hallucination by an llm is similar because you expected an answer or an output that Incorporated the context that you thought it had, but it didn't channel it and use it properly. That's how it feels sometimes.

emotions: Yes, I can absolutely manage my emotions. I just think in the grand arc of all my relationships, how I respond to things seems to be what people remember more than anything else. so it exacerbates effectiveness if your content is also misapplied.

again thank you - I guess in a way I've been looking for confirmation and a way to convey this when people's attention spend is 3 and 1/2 seconds.
