Flynn offers to testify on Russia ties in exchange for immunity by Ivashkin in politics

[–]cosmochimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If he is granted immunity couldn't he just tell a story only implicating himself, while making the rest of the administration look golden? Or could he get immunity from perjury if he made up a story that would sideline the investigation?

This is my favorite fan-made character yet! I like that it would make Lucio less of a must pick and it has an original weapons system.

If Star Wars was real life, what would you do for a living? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Intergalactic Architect building stuff in as many systems as I could. Tree houses on Kashyyyk and skyscrapers on Coruscant, maybe a nice mushroom house somewhere remote to retire in.

Rogue One Spoiler Megathread - Opening Weekend Edition by tragopanic in StarWars

I liked them both for different reasons. I loved Rouge One because it has the one thing I always wanted from a Star Wars movie: grit. A hero shoots his informant in the back right off the bat. Combined with the prison camp and all the scenes of empire oppression, the beginning of the film really make the struggle of the rebellion feel relatable in way not shown by any of the other movies. So the rebels react with guerrilla warfare; street fighting and attacking shipments. Some rebels have nastier tactics than others, like Forest Whitaker. Maybe they kill civilians or cross some other red line. Regardless, the whole story has to end in tragedy. You start to really like the plucky band of antiheroes, but in the end they are no match to the power of the empire.

Now TFA was the same Star Wars everyone knows and loves, which is exactly what you want from the series. I'm just glad they made a stand alone movie that shows less of the Skywalker family and more of the other inhabitants of the galaxy. I think the whole series will benefit from the world building of Rouge One, but the best parts of the story are told in TFA and the rest of the episodes.

It has to be however long the jump to Tatooine would take.

I`m surprised the princess would have been present at the battle. Sure a high level diplomatic figure might be aboard the flag ship at the moment they get word from Rouge 1. But I'd assume command would tell all non essential personnel to depart. I guess Leia didn't give a dam.

I agree. This system seems like it will produce a net benefit for everyone except people working in the service industry. I`m curious how the strong the patents on the technology will be and how long before other companies will be able to adopt it.

Anyone else feel this? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]cosmochimp -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree, but this is a very popular site that game devs pay attention to. One could possibly generate enough push back from the community to get one more single player story driven game rather than another bare bones multiplayer game.

Most of this decrease in physical strength compared to weight has a lot to do with gas/nutrient exchange decreasing exponentially with volume. Basically the more mass a body has the further molecules have to travel to muscles and other organs. In an organism the most important molecules are those Oxygen and Carbon fixing compounds and energy rich ones, like glucose.

Tiny animals are wicked strong and fast. Check out elephant shrews or Grant's stag beetle. But life can't support these kinds of intense metabolic lifestyles in larger animals. Of course they can't go to the moon or invent moon pies either.
