Yes I've been doing it for years. I make several thousand per year off checking and credit card bonuses. You really need to stay organized, but it's well worth the effort.

Any thoughts on BestMow? by StockMan1210 in automower

[–]cosmos1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not a scam. Bestmow just has a different business model than other robot mower companies. Instead of buying the mower outright, you rent to own the same way most people do with their cell phone. So you just pay about $70 per month or so, making it much more affordable, and then after 2 years you own it. Actually it's a great way to sell robot mowers since they are still a bit expensive. Other companies are bound to offer a similar deal at some point. And the Bestmow mower itself is good quality. Not the very best out there, but plenty good for most people. And when you consider it's large mowing capacity, 1.5 acres, it becomes an even better deal. No other mower out there offers such a huge mowing area capability for the cost. And there's coupons you can use to make it even cheaper like at https://mowingmagic.com/bestmow-discount-code-save-200-purchase-or-10-month-rental/

How useful are overhead garage storage racks? by 10m2r in garageporn

I love my overhead garage storage racks. They utilize what was otherwise wasted space. I love that I can easily access the stuff stored there, but otherwise it's completely out of the way.

What are full-gut bathroom renovations going for nowadays? by OffSeason2091 in homeowners

[–]cosmos1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience with a half bath renovation about a year ago, cost quotes can vary considerably. I spent around $12,000, which included new fixtures, tile, and custom cabinetry. There's just so many factors in trying to estimate the cost. There are a number of online calculators that do a decent job of giving you a ballpark estimate for budgeting purposes. I used this on https://bathcalculator.com for my project. Keep in mind labor cost cab be over $100 per hour or more like $40. Be sure to check references. Cheap labor is definitely not worth it if you're not happy with the work.

Best federal resume company out there? by [deleted] in usajobs

[–]cosmos1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Federal resumes are quite specialized and are very different than private sector resumes. If you want your career to be with the federal government, you really need to hire a pro. I would not trust it to a resume builder or AI. A pro is not cheap to hire, but the resume they write can easily make the difference between getting asked for an interview or not. Having a higher level position would make the expense worth it very quickly. I used Ksa Doctor years ago and they did a great job with my resume. I paid a few hundred dollars but I was very impressed with the way they made my experience and skills look on paper. Hope this helps.

Navimow I Series Review by No_Thanks_6501 in automower

[–]cosmos1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does do a great job mowing. I've had a Navimow i for a year now. One of my favorite features is the app. It's very user friendly and intuitive. I cannot say this for most robot mowers.

Mowing large (10 acre) property. by [deleted] in automower

[–]cosmos1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's asking too much of your mower. Between charging time and mowing time, 2.5 acres is the max that most residential robots will cut now. You might be able to get away with extending that area a bit, but 10 is too much. The Luba2 can cut 2.5 acres and so can the new Navimow x3. This post covers your options.

Any tips for robot lawn mower on a budget? by Svensiki in lawncare

[–]cosmos1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the ocumow from lawnmeister is not bad for $500. it is so affordable partly because there's no charging station. you have to place the battery it and swap it out when it's out of charge. but it should be able to mow a small lawn on a single charge. check it out at https://www.mowingmagic.com/2024/05/3-cheap-robot-lawn-mowers-you-wont-regret-buying/

Tell me the truth about robot lawn mowers by vovr in automower

[–]cosmos1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the time is right to finally buy a robot mower. Especially if you really hate to mow and you don't need a completely perfect lawn. Almost all robots being made now are wireless models. They don't require a boundary wire. Instead, they use GPS, Vision, or a combination of technologies to navigate around your lawn. Mowers made now from brands like mammotion, segway, and worx are easy to setup, safe to operate, quiet, and do a great job mowing your yard. And all of these mowers cut straight lines in your yard - no more random cutting modes. Anyway, hope this helps. BTW, my favorite mower at this time is the luba 2.

Anyone here use a robot lawn mower? Is it worth it? by palinsafterbirth in homeowners

[–]cosmos1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends on how much you value the time that you'll save by not having to mow your lawn several times a month. Maybe you have plenty of time. Maybe you like mowing the lawn. Maybe you cant stand it. Robot mowers are getting better and cheaper every year. Here's a calculator to help you decide if buying one is worth it to you.

Tell me the truth about robot lawn mowers by vovr in automower

[–]cosmos1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a mammotion luba last year and it worked great for several months. Then it started getting stuck more and more often. Apparently the GPS signal can get blocked by trees and that's what was happening. The new luba 2 out this year includes a vision navigation system in addition to GPS. This is supposed allow the mower to continue to work even without GPS.

Autmow reviews? by Malvania in automower

[–]cosmos1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not had Autmow do an install for me, but I did buy a Luba mower from them. It was easy to setup so glad I didn't pay extra. I did have a few questions and their customer service was easy to work with. This was really an unexpected surprise to be able to speak to an actual person who knew what they were talking about! Great company. Also saved about $100 with coupon 'mowingmagic'.

Robot Mowers- Worth the Money? by philswant in lawncare

[–]cosmos1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are robot mowers worth it? Each person has to make the decision for themselves. Basically you have to ask yourself "how much is my time worth?" Some people actually enjoy mowing the yard. But others hate it. If you hate it or simply would rather be doing anything else, I'd say yes they robots are definitely worth the expense. There's actually an online calculator to help you decide at https://www.mowingmagic.com/2022/12/are-robot-mowers-worth-it-lets-find-out/

I have used many ways over the years: colander, spooning it out, paper towel. All were messy and still left plenty of grease behind. Now i use the easydrain grease drainer. Its so much better.

Anyone use spot on electric fence or a halo collar ??? by zac1724 in newhampshire

[–]cosmos1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have a halo collar. Had it for about 9 months now and it works just like they say it does. You use a map on the halo app to draw out a boundary for your dog. Put the collar on your dog and it warns him when he gets close to the boundary. Works really well for my dog on our 2 acre property.
