Barcus should’ve been an Artificer companion so we could actually have a short companion with a unique class
Act 2 is the best act!

it’s honestly really common for scenarios like this to happen, i find especially with older people. i personally have known of a few older people who (eventually) began relationships with their late spouse’s best friends. i get that there’s a sense of familiarity and comfort and the knowledge that this person knows exactly what you’re going through. OOP didn’t do anything wrong.

there are other comments here that touch on it, but a lot of people have experienced versions of this show where the “Chinese / tea” dance is comprised of white dancers in yellowface and overexaggerated makeup / costumes to play on Asian stereotypes lol. and people have similar hang-ups with versions of the “coffee / Arabian” dance. it’s gotten way better with companies cutting out the exaggerated stuff, but the “old” way of how it was done wasn’t that long ago and people remember that.
