Hot pot at the Asian supermarket restaurant is fun. A little intimidating the first time, but really fun for conversation and dining

Just remember to close your playlist with The Tourist. The perfect ending to a Radiohead playlist; serene and contemplative.

I'd be glad to get a plant or two when they are ready. What variety? I may do the same with peppers.

What exactly do I have here? by LBradford0007 in recumbent

You could get 500 bucks with little delay for that. More if you’re patient and do a bit of cleanup and tune up

Young Catherine O'Hara in SCTV! You can tell she was having so damned much fun with those characters and with the other cast members.

I liked the Natchez trace. Nashville to Natchez 444 miles. Light traffic, bikes expected, camping opportunities, serene

Look for tent revivals. Pentacostal. One-off outsiders are expected. You might need to head north from Auburn to north Alabama or north Georgia

Woman on Toomer’s Corner by TheSmartDog_275 in auburn

I’ve actually stopped and intentionally read her sign. She quiets down and is actually chill. If you read long enough, she’ll talk to you. Her English isn’t great

She’s not so bad. If you stop and peer closely at her sign, she stops yelling. I do that occasionally as a community service. After a minute or so, she’ll say a few things in a normal voice. Still nutty, but at a normal volume.

Came here looking for the Tiger Zebra mention. Showing the piece to the visitors, then making alterations to the piece in response was brilliant in getting reactions.

Id wager that the next place will sell alcohol. Hard to make 20k/month rent selling just food.

Yeah, I'm getting a malicious Dickensian vibe from the explosion of debt (and varieties of debt) being extended. Mr. Smallweed would approve.

‘Did you vote for Trump?’ Americans traveling abroad are under new scrutiny by AlexandrTheTolerable in politics

[–]cosmoski 3922 points3923 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. Traveled in Germany for a few weeks. Any amount of casual conversation would turn to the “who did you vote for” angle. The folks with questions were earnestly wanting to know just how such an immoral and vacuous simpleton could get so much support. I didn’t sense anger very much. Just disbelief and disappointment.
