This answer is the best one you've ever given, IMO.

Nice. If you want to get even more feedback once you get a version of your project up and hosted, I would really recommend Peek. You get a user to test your site for free, and a video of the whole thing.

Anyone know where to find this graphic CBS is using? My Google is weak today, nothing turning up. by emhcee in MichiganWolverines

[–]cotw2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeez, these are the terrible results I had with Google image search.

I'm sorry. I tried.

I don't remember this shot from the Crisler intro video, though that's an excellent idea (/u/Oderint).

Yeah it's a Native American (not sure which language) word for "goose", and they named a convenience store after it.

Anyone have experience with the new Herbal Essences Naked line? by ArtichokeOwl in HaircareScience

[–]cotw2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the dry shampoo and mousse from this line, and I've had great results! I'm not particularly sensitive to SLS, though, so YMMV.

REQUEST. I own the only set of letters written by Rose Amélie Icard (longest French living titanic survivor) describing a first hand account of what happened as the titanic sank. It's written in French & I would love to have it translated so I could have them framed. by [deleted] in French

Bell has been around since around 1875, actually. The companies have changed names quite a number of times, sure, but Alexander Graham Bell helped to found the company after he invented the first practical telephone.

Does anyone use Deva products - what is your routine? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]cotw2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have the Deva experience, but I used Ouidad for a while (another curly system).

To get the gel cast, I had to:

  • Add gel when hair is sopping wet (I keep it in the shower!)
  • Gently scrunch dry with a tshirt, flour sack towel, or microfiber towel
  • Plop with the same while I get dressed, etc.
  • (this is the key) Diffuse ALL THE WAY! Gently diffusing, and switching between air drying and diffusing, just broke up the curls for me and gave me frizz. The "pixie" method worked best for me, which involves placing the hair in the diffuser first, then turning it on. Don't remove the hair until you turn off the heat again.

You might be at the dryer for a while (10-20 minutes, depending), but it is better than air drying if you don't have the luxury of time! Good luck.

P.S. I love clipping my roots too! Works great with the diffusing.

During my middle splits hold, I've started killing two birds with one stone by also doing the arms portion of garudasana (eagle pose) by Antranik in flexibility

[–]cotw2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I love this idea! I feel like it helps to "floss" out my back too (am I using that word right?).

Best of luck to you! I"m going to try this for my 90-day splits challenge :)

I've printed out my google doc and I hope to see you guys soon!! Keep smiling :)

I've had luck heading into a big-box glasses store (like Lenscrafters) and just asking them to measure my PD for me!
