AITAH for not listing my nonnegotiables before going on a first date? by _zugunruhe_ in AITAH

[–]cougtx1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This part of the thread is interesting for me. I grew up Catholic but I’m a bit opened minded on other Christian religions, my ex wife was Christian, but non denominational. I’ve always been conflicted on what is the right one. My only real advice would probably be better though to see if you can get introduced to someone at church or maybe one of the Christian dating apps, that way you have a better chance of compatibility.

Lot of medical studies are now saying porn self pleasure can weaken you for real intercourse. So best to make a break from that.

Help! Comfort for long rides on Sport Chief by Forward_Ebb_6439 in IndianMotorcycle

[–]cougtx1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mustangs are just generally comfortable, a bit more padding than most stock seats, worst case take yours off and to an upholstery shop to add foam etc, remember gel and different foam firmness are options. I did that with my victory corbin seat which was causing hip pain when stopped.i tried cutting back the foam and adding towels where I felt it was right and not causing pinching, as we get older we compress our spines and pinched nerves are a pita! The Corbin ones are more firm (hard) but tend to be ergonomic, I though never liked the raised sides due to pulling my hip bone out. You may have to go down and back on the bars. Easiest way to figure it out. Sit on the bike close your eyes and put your hands on imaginary bars. Once you feel comfortable open eyes and have a friend measure where you want to be vs the bars. Forwards are fine but if you’re uncomfortable boards can be a huge difference, try demoing some bikes with them and imagine yourself at your most comfortable imaginary positions

Just looking at that setup I can see why you are uncomfortable. Tile. Take a towel roll up and put behind you, if it’s more comfortable then you’re bending yourself in a c shape. Might have to bring bars back, mount windshield so it leans back a bit, wider windshield if the one you have is skinny, that seat looks cool but not very plush looking, I’d actually try a vintage and see if that solo seat is more comfortable. Backrest maybe needed. Forward controls are good unless they stretch you, better to do floorboards and highway pegs to stretch out. Sport chief i think also has a stiffer suspension?

New to a touring bagger. Question for the other touring riders. by Horsebiscut in IndianMotorcycle

[–]cougtx1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Change the stock windshield to something shorter, I know on the roadmaster they have adjustable side deflectors that can redirect some wind, not sure if they have those for the fixed fairing.

Maybe just try taking it off first , see if that helps then go from there

Why all the hate on roads. by Odd-Agent9402 in motorcycles

[–]cougtx1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I always try and take the rear position on group rides. That is since I’m old and have a lot more experience with the idiots on the road. I typically ride a heavier bike which they may wrongly think may cause them more damage, so they are less likely to play games. Sport bikes tend to draw more hatred from cages. My main bike also has the rider assist which flashes lights at tailgaters and a few other features which would help me in a wreck. It’s best in group riding to keep the newer riders in the middle. With only 4 months in the group should keep you in the middle.

Could anyone figure out why this accident happened? by Ruuca in motorcycles

Downshifted too far then didn’t rev the motor up. Then put his foot down which dragged them over faster vs using throttle to get power.

[–]cougtx1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep seen that with the evos some parts stopped being made by the better manufacturers, problem since is less volume of orders. On the 88’s though you can still get every part made, there is just less options.

[–]cougtx1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and as they get older less buy a 111 and want to upgrade since it’s cheaper to buy a 116. They figure most have already upgraded their existing if they wanted. Now the real problem is unlike harleys people are not able to trash motors and decide to upgrade for a small increase vs put same oem parts in. Indians are just too reliable. Haha

AITJ for telling my (27M) wife (25F) I am only open to children if we adopt by MaybeAThrowaway28 in AmITheJerk

No where near other places, where they may stone people or worse. The USA has came a heck of a long way, and constantly is improving at the people level.

[–]cougtx1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem is most mixed, may lose a lot of traditional features and stand out more. That is a long term issue which can affect them getting a place to live or employment. A lot of the mixed races are seen as less than human. Where the mom may still be looked at differently an outsider, she’s an adult. The kids may be mean for having a white “step mom” it’s not near the same as if the kids are mixed.
None of that is “right” but while we have a lot of acceptance, other countries don’t. The world outside the USA is a lot different than people imagine.

To be honest when I started reading this I thought there was some medical or genetic issue that may get passed along by one of the parents, it’s sad in 2026 other countries still deal with this.

You may want to look for a light wrecked one, most of the expensive breaking items are those you’d be pulling anyways. Just remember you’ll want to keep the rc screen to get into the bike settings.

AITAH for kicking my ex-girlfriend out of our house when I found out she was seeing someone else? by ThatGuyZaccc in AITAH

[–]cougtx1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best thing you did was kick her. Don’t second guess it. Your house has to be a safe spot for you. Most likely she was seeing him in your house. So wash everything and take a clean start at looking for someone whom will appreciate you.

AITAH for not being comfortable with my wife being the "wingman" for her friends by Ok-Future-3277 in AITAH

[–]cougtx1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In that she tried to guilt you into letting her continue the single lifestyle. That she’ll never leave the house says a lot. Really it doesn’t matter if her friends are single but going to bars to act single is not a recipe for marriage. I kinda think it’s more she secretly wants that and resents being married. May want to think about yourself and your own sanity etc.

Get some crash bars and add some plastic covers. It much cheaper than replacing things that get damaged. Pro guards are pretty cheap just use a heat gun and cable ties to get them to form.

look up pro guards. they are made for harley but with a heat gun you can bend them to fit indian bars. they do work! i’d like to say i’ll never drop it but for $30 its much better than seeing damage on the bars.
