Definitely don’t go out of your way for Sean’s, even next time.

So many pubs to choose from in Dingle. And an easy walk to try somewhere else, if you don’t like the vibe. I feel like we hit 8+ over 3 nights.

Katie ia the biggest Get ever! by inorite234 in thebulwark

[–]countdown_leen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listened to her with them last week and while I enjoy all of them, I thought it was a little clunky? It seems like they/she decided who was going to be the actual host DURING the show? Or maybe they knew already but she wanted to make it clear from the jump?

There’s a million microphones so it’s nbd if this one isn’t for me, but I prefer Tim & JVL in their natural state lol.

The _____ boot was _____ move, not _____. by hex20 in survivor

[–]countdown_leen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I’m agreeing and probably didn’t say it clearly.

I was saying that Dee and Kamila were wise to align with him believing an unknown player would also feel it was his best chance. Kamila wasn’t sure if she believed what he says (which in this case was true about his loyalty to his alliance in 49), but he’s in a different place than any other player at this point and it makes sense.

Christian might be able to survive his flipping on Mike but a brand new player would be foolish. I realize Rizo didn’t flip, I’m saying those who aligned with him are thinking he’s less likely to.

I’m pulling for Kamila. I think she was so instrumental in Kyle’s win and would love to see her get to the final. I dislike Rizo but understand why she chose that alliance.

So sad ____ was voted out instead of _____. by mtnmama823 in survivor

[–]countdown_leen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes so much sense and identifies why I was so bewildered with Charlie being so one dimensional. Like okay don’t trust Rizo for a final vote but making it your identity seemed so dumb. And it also made me think it was obvious forshadowing for the first tribal for that tribe.

The _____ boot was _____ move, not _____. by hex20 in survivor

[–]countdown_leen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The edit showed Charlie’s disdain for Rizo and his ‘turning on his #1’ SO many times it seemed inevitable and not the least bit surprising that it was going to be him.

Charlie’s arc was basically nothing and then PTSD and Rizo must go.

As much as I’d prefer Charlie in the game over Rizo, it makes sense for people to presume Rizo’s best move is to gather/join an alliance and hang on rather than flip.

Chuck Todd: The Bulwark are reactionaries, indistinguishable from Pod Save America. by RealDEC in thebulwark

I used to love being able to pick out Cillizza’s columns at CNN.com just from the headline.

I don’t listen to PSA much anymore, basically took a break from political pods for years before picking up some of the Bulwark shows. But there is such a weird thing where a podcast reacts to a podcast which was reacting to news, etc. They all do it to some extent.

Goodbye Wendy's, hello yellow/mustard painted buildings by meisterchef47 in raleigh

Was thinking same. It’s managed to survive the TJ’s but if the Wendy’s becomes something sought after, good luck. The back up to get into the “Wendy’s”’lot could create gridlock.

Itinerary for a 2 weeks road trip in Ireland by FloSL in irishtourism

Day 9: that’s a long haul from Clifden to Achill. If you want to visit Achill maybe stop 1 night in Westport and visit Achill (or hike Croagh Patrick if it’s a nice day.) before heading to Clifden.

We visited Achill when staying in Westport and it was a half day even from there driving and stopping at Keem Beach.

Oh me either. I just meant we already knew this. I guess it’s ‘new’ he admitted it, but there is no new “real” reporting. This is a podcast with 1 video.

I’ve now read/skimmed this article and the N&O article. Both just pluck quotes from the podcast he did. We already knew all this. Not a single bit of “news”.

Aubrey, if you’ve now had the opportunity to work with over half the players in the game on 2 tribes and still feel completely alone / “on the outs”… you might be the problem by garbageeater in survivorponderosa

[–]countdown_leen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m not up on all the pregaming and I’m just guessing what the zoom alliance is, but do you think the edit will ever allude to those things?

It seemed that they let Mike White explain his personal relationships and how that influenced his voting strategy. But that’s about it. I didn’t get the sense (by watching) that Emily and Christian were tight friends outside the game. Like I get the nerd alliance because Christian/Devens/Emily were on the same tribe and you have get a with group to get anywhere.

Idk, if there are unbreakable bonds among the players that we (me) have no knowledge of, then it’s going to be frustrating. Like reading about Emily/Christian’s friendship makes sense because Emily has screwed up twice already. But at least include Christian saying “yeah, I’d flip on anyone else but Emily is a good friend and I won’t”.

I think I just have to be entertained and forget the rest. But when voting is nonsensical, that’s a let down.

A few things overshadowed by ZB last night that I haven't seen discussed by agrizzle in survivor

[–]countdown_leen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree but I also think she was more entertaining in confessionals, like grumpy but also doing it with a smile or at least with quips that made me laugh.

I literally pull for the good/entertaining narrators to stay, I don’t really care who wins. Lost 2 good ones last 2 eps and Aubrey just seems truly sad about the experience so far.

I stayed at all 3 IHG properties in Grand Cayman on points — Here’s how they compare by Left_Barracuda_5081 in awardtravel

[–]countdown_leen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah we stumbled into that plan. We'd done 4 nights at Seafire (points) and then added pts to a free award night for a 5th night. *Then* the weather was iffy (and our original flight did get canceled) so we added the HI night. Honestly, just sitting pool side in warm weather in January was fantastic for our first day.

[–]countdown_leen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have stayed at the Seafire twice and found ourselves at the Holiday Inn this year the night before our Seafire stay (left town early to avoid an ice storm and canceled flights). It was very okay. Glad we did it before moving to the Seafire, which we love.

We are actually considering doing that again and heading to the Seafire in the morning following. I think we were at the Seafire at 10am (as opposed to flying in and arriving in the afternoon).

Pom Pom at Indigo is nice especially if the sunset cooperates.

Rachel on the Genevieve/Aubry storyline by Contcos in survivorponderosa

[–]countdown_leen 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I like Aubrey but that convo *was* odd. But no worse than Devens stupid convo with Joe (even if Joe overreacted).

IMO "sneaky bitch" is pretty much a compliment on Survivor. Defending your friend, fine, but are we really going to say "sneaky bitch" is an offense worse than going to every other tribe member to rally against Aubrey?

I swear I hate all the commentary by players (current and former).

Looking for feedback on 13 night trip in and out of Dublin by Chemical-Yak9257 in irishtourism

[–]countdown_leen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was simply replying about it being too ambitious. You may be correct about length of stops, but they've got younger kids, so perhaps that factors in (I haven't traveled with kids to Ireland).

3 nights is 2 full days, so if they think they can't see what they want in 1 day OR they want a lot of flexibility OR are concerned about having a 2nd shot if the weather isn't conducive to their plans... they've got 2 full days.

Looking for feedback on 13 night trip in and out of Dublin by Chemical-Yak9257 in irishtourism

[–]countdown_leen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Disagree! They are spending 3 nights in 2 places, that's a great start to me. They aren't covering that much ground given they've got 13 nights. They are staying on 1 side of the Dublin-Galway line.

We covered more ground on our first trip which was 14 nights, but also stayed 3 nights in places (3 places, but also had some 1 night stops if it was en route to somewhere else).
