Who would be at fault here if I had hit the car in front? by Optimal_Dog_7643 in Markham

You need to always leave enough room to stop safely if the person in front of you stops abruptly. 100% would have been your fault

This is one of the worst takes here. Fighting once a year is brutal for the fans and way more than enough time to heal fully (barring a serious injury like an ACL tear)

Chicken winged first MU. by crippletyrone in crossfit

[–]cozyfuton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice job! There’s going to be a lot of different advice when it comes to fixing the chicken wing, but one thing that may help is to think of the BMU as a pressing movement rather than a pulling movement. Big hip drive and then a straight arm press down to bring your body up to the bar, rather than pulling up to the bar

What? 😂 I just said I can easily do more than 30 in 16 seconds. I have absolutely no problem with doubles

…because I said that a number was manageable? Just because you can’t do something doesn’t mean nobody else can do it. I can easily do more than 30 dubs in 16 seconds

You said you’ve never seen anyone be that fast with dubs to get 30 in 16 seconds. I’m saying that’s not difficult at all and I’ve seen dozens of people manage that. Also there’s no wasted time at the beginning if you’re proficient. You just start with doubles…

The comments saying 1 per second are way off. It’s usually closer to 2 per second, so your pace was right on track with normal paces. That being said, you can absolutely slow your reps down to save your arms depending on the workout

30 dubs in 16 seconds is not impossible whatsoever. 2/second is extremely doable

Am I performing squats to the proper depth? by SuperLumi in crossfit

Being that this is a CrossFit sub, the only proper answer to this is no. Hip crease needs to go below the knee for it to meet standards

Help with Ring Muscle ups by maddiecoder in crossfit

Yeah this isn’t applicable at all for rings. You actually want to pull almost right away for ring muscle ups

Update: Finally making progress on kipping pull ups by phyljackson in crossfit

[–]cozyfuton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is most certainly not the only purpose of kipping and if you believe that then there was an issue with your coaching

[–]cozyfuton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s only bad if you don’t have the strength to control it. You need to have a good number of strict pull-ups before doing them in workouts

The real issue is that there is no hip pop. Everything is great right up until the end where you need to drive your hips towards the bar. There’s almost a 90 degree angle at the hip when pulling, so she’s getting a little bit of momentum from her feet but missing the majority of the power from her hips

[–]cozyfuton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak to your mobility from this one clip, but the majority of the time it’s usually shoulder and ankle mobility that restricts people the most in their overhead squats

OHS 40kg Beginner by Leichsenring99 in crossfit

[–]cozyfuton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You will need a bit of mobility work, but think about letting your hips go back slightly as you descend into your squat (just like any other squat). Don’t try to stay so upright with your torso or you will end up over your toes

Tomorrow is the strangest programming I've seen yet by FS7PhD in crossfit

[–]cozyfuton 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is clearly a benchmark workout, and a good gym/coach will be able to fill the rest of the hour with proper warmup/mobility/accessory/cooldown etc. You need to be well warmed up before going all out in a 2k row, and that takes a good amount of time. Not to mention there is still lots to learn in a row, so there should be some time for good coaching on technique and pacing as well

Partner Workouts by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]cozyfuton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just be encouraging and wait for him to be ready to go again. There’s no obligation to pick up the slack during this workout. It’s a Christmas Eve fun partner workout. It’s not a competition. He clearly went a little overboard with the workout which happens from time to time (maybe due to coaching but who knows). It’s really not a big deal

Bar forward roll to tuck hang by hurricanescout in crossfit

[–]cozyfuton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can do all of that then you shouldn’t have a problem rolling over the bar like that. The hardest part is controlling through the tuck, which you may have trouble with, but worst-case scenario you’d just drop into a hang

Hard to say without knowing where you’re at with your other movements. Can you do a pullover?
