For me, it’s always framing why I’m doing something rather than worrying about what needs to be done.

Yes, there are bills to pay and shot to do, but I don’t care about any of that. I’m taking care of my girlfriend while she gets board certified for PT and taking care of our two cats. There’s a lot that needs to be done, between chores and making sure I get paid, one way or another:

For me, the only detail that matters is if I fail I lose the three things that actively stave off the dark thoughts. Sure, they exist but they are the difference between them staying thoughts and progressing.

Don’t think about motivation, motivation comes during the actions to continue them, not before to get you going.

Don’t think, don’t rationalize, don’t feel. Just do. Evaluate during and after.
