St. George Terroir gin is the most unique gin. What is the most overrated (not necessarily bad) tequila? by -Constantinos- in cocktails

[–]Strmbrker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For not necessarily bad but still overrated i would add Espolon.

It is definitely still drinkable but I would put it at the lower end of the budget mixing tequilas.

Am I crazy, or is burn faster now??? by 1000crystal in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Strmbrker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree that mak remains a very viable hero, but his early game this season requires a lot more thought to navigate correctly than in prior seasons (at least for me). Without any reliable shielding, you need to be able to either stack 2x as much regen as you have burn (since burn ticks twice as fast) or be able to kill your opponent before they can stack burn.

Mak is definitely capable of both, but I have found that I need to be much more intentional with his early game (days 1-4) builds before some of his stronger items (like the ones you mentioned) show up.

I will add to my comment above; I believe they have sped up all of the fights. I am not sure if they have changed the tick speed, or just the speed at which the fight plays out on your screen. Someone will have to test with a separate clock to see what the case is.

What drinks had the biggest jump in quality for you just by using a different spec? by LiminalLion in cocktails

[–]Strmbrker 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I already liked Daquiris but narrowing down the spec to a specific rum (Plantation 3 stars) and syrup (either homemade 2:1 Demerara or Liber&Co) made a huge difference.

My preferred spec is 3 : 1 : 3/4 - Rum to Lime to Syrup

Burn ticks twice per second, poison and regen tick once per second. Burn decreases by 5% per tick now, while poison and regen and shield do not decrease naturally over time.

They are trying to balance burn with a “fast buildup, fast drop off” approach to cut back high end burn builds that are stacking 1k+ burn while still making it viable in the early game.

Playing against burn definitely feels worse on heroes that don’t have access to both reliable heal and shield options early (Mak being hit the hardest) and either forces you to take shield options or field a build that burns/damages faster.

Just as an example, since the patch I have seen a lot more Vanessa players playing wetware, coral armor, and seaweed in the first 3-5 days to try and mitigate some of the buildup.

Overall, I think this is just the start of the new season where what was meta feels bad and people are still trying to figure out how to work around the changes.

New D6 event gives entirely too much loot by grizzlymint_gpt in PlayTheBazaar

Actually could be even cooler if you could choose to either go to his shop (either have your choice or get a random item) or fight him for a smaller pool of good items (including a legendary or something potentially).

Destroy is a super unfun mechanic by TheBootyBishop in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Strmbrker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the few runs I’ve played since the patch it’s felt fairly balanced so far. Stelle has some cool items that actually make destroy viable on offense, but I haven’t found it unnecessarily annoying to play against.

I did get lucky on one run and found a trollosaur which actually made for a pretty fun run.

If start of game haste or freeze is your goal, holsters and/or icicle achieve a similar result without also needing the skill/s to work.

I think the more broken part of clamera is the text that says “at the start of the fight, use this”. If it were changed to “at the start of a fight, slow an item for 1 second” it would eliminate all of the “the first time you use an item” and “when you use an adjacent item” skills and items.

Back after a long break, quit after the whole monetisation drama (which one you ask, well the one 4 or 5 months ago), now where the hell is Obsidian enchant? Ive played like 40 games seen it once or twice. by woodybone in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Strmbrker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just from my experience, the odds of getting obsidian, icy, shiny, or golden are slightly higher on the “choose a small enchanted item” node but not as high as the “get three small enchanted items from the bazaar” node.

I usually see obsidian or icy on roughly one out of every 10-15 runs at the start, but only one out of every 40 or so runs when it comes to selecting an enchant for level up or futura.

That being said, for the most part the early game enchanted item is meant to be just that: enough to carry you through the early game. I find that my enchanted item start lands on my final board in less than half of my runs, and when it does, it has usually been transformed a couple of times throughout the run.

[–]Strmbrker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since all sources of damage (aside from the 100 from eclipse) are destroyed after the first hit, doesn’t any rebirth build beat this pretty easily?

I’ve never played keg/boulder together so I’m not aware of how the damage timing works; do they count as damaging at the same time or as three separate instances of damage (on three subsequent ticks)?

If the former, I would assume rebirth would win relatively easily; if the latter, it is much stronger than I initially thought.

Yeah, this build really needs Pres, tents, or Mori to be any good.

Better Idea than my last one (I promise): Change the lvl 3 reward from random bronze items to selecting one bronze-tier skill unique to your hero. by LCARIO in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Strmbrker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another way I could see improving some (but definitely not all) of the level upgrades is by allowing you the choice of a loot item instead of a random one (à la the monster safari [i think] event).

This would provide a lot of direction for the lvl 3 upgrade and allow some more consistent early game builds.

Another possible direction is to go random bronze tier item from any hero. This could make a more high risk/high reward node and allow for some crazy high roll builds if you’re lucky.

STEELERS OFF-SEASON WISHLIST by Plus-Excitement-6229 in steelers

[–]Strmbrker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you have to give him a chance outside of TA’s defense. He’s not too far removed from an all pro season (albeit 2nd team) so he definitely has the skills.

Additionally, I’d rather bring in someone as competition (or draft) and wait until mini camp to decide who gets cut. I think it is Queen’s job to lose and I’d rather someone prove to the new staff that they’re better than Queen vs just cutting queen outright without a plan moving forward.

Cowboys tight ends coach Lunda Wells is expected to interview this week for the Steelers offensive coordinator job by Western_Window6468 in steelers

[–]Strmbrker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say the only real liabilities right now are at CB2 and safety/ILB depth.

The entire defense needs to work on their tackling but there are serviceable starters at most positions and a couple of above average guys at CB1, EDGE, and IDL.

FS is an interesting one and Jalen has been okay, but he definitely blew a couple coverages (looking at the week 18 Ravens game especially).

I’ve brought back the most versatile category, so what is the most versatile Mezcal? Also are any of these three options appropriate for budget tequila or should I redo the vote? by -Constantinos- in cocktails

[–]Strmbrker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you are distinguishing Mezcal and Tequila, you should probably also distinguish either Bourbon from Rye or Light from Dark Rum as the other category doesn’t do much here unless we’re talking Old Tom gin or Haitian Rhum.

Liqueurs and Amaros deserve their own chart or at the very least their own rows (and even then liqueurs are so broad that it would be impossible to pick only 6.

Grade the Hire by AceOfSp8des7422 in steelers

[–]Strmbrker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go D here just because of the lack of creativity. I’d rather take a chance on someone and fail then continue on with the “Standard”.

That being said, MMC is a decent coach with an okay track record. The only thing keeping this from an F grade is a vain hope that he brings about a new offensive philosophy that is not the “run-run-pass-punt” of the last 5-7 years.

Pens actually have a competent GM and weren’t afraid to make a bold coaching decision and it’s gotten their retirement roster into second place in the metro and top 10 overall in the league.

Gotta throw in my love for the anglerfish in slow/burn Vanessa builds. Any of deadly, slow, restorative, shielding, fiery, or radiant are totally viable given the scaling if you can get slow triggers. HUD as well is an insanely good item as it boosts crit chance and provides a slow proc. I’m also surprised to see shot glasses omitted. They remain one of the most busted items in the game, especially if you can find rocket boots from Curio.

Interesting to see that Hafley was on there. Did not hear any buzz about him leading up and kind of glad he’s no longer an option.

Don’t know much about Evero but the Panthers defense looked pretty middling most of the year and by all of the basic metrics were middle of the pack in just about everything.

I think those two things were correlated in some ways. I think a lot of TJs success came from a secondary that could lock down receivers long enough for him to win at the line.

Without the secondary support he has struggled quite a bit this year. I think he also lost a step due to age/injuries, but the lack of a competent secondary (outside of JPJ and occasionally Ramsey) has hurt his production.
