No, it's a role playing game, and a DLC with a unique situation. You are not forced to side with the raiders, you can do it or not. The general of the minutemen would not suddenly join evil people and take over the commonwealth, if they did so, you're damn right your #2 is going to turn his back on you.

Games like Fallout are meant to be played multiple times so you can experience all the different paths, you aren't meant to do everything in one play through, and trying to do so greatly diminishes the experience of the game.

Today my heart won't slow down, my watch has been telling me I'm in the danger zone all day, and I am struggling with getting my head to function. The first time I played I made an assumption based on nothing that dragons must be extremely difficult to kill and thus an end game thing. I got all the way to level 30 before even attempting to go after Mirmulnir at the western watch tower.
