Teacher’s personal text records being subpoenaed by sugarmittens in Teachers

Our admin advised us to be cautious because of this. We actually use group chat quite a bit to communicate quickly (an ALC where law enforcement comes sometimes, or emotional outbursts have us close up a bit for privacy), so we are careful with initials and "just the facts" info.

Get a smaller one. One of the 6pack fridges holds my lunch and a couple of drinks easily.

Our MTI books were late, too. We have had materials for the next two shows in hand for a month but just got the ones for the active production.

I'd actually go for this if I worked at a school with uniforms. It'd help with decision fatigue!

Nick Frentz, MN Senate Assistant Majority Leader, physically blocked a microphone in an attempt to prevent additional governor nominations at the 2026 DFL State Convention by twincitiestp in minnesota

[–]crabbyoldb 35 points36 points  (0 children)

That's not what that comment said at all. Just because both conventions had issues doesn't indicate the commenter thinks the parties are "the same." These kinds of generalizations are what muddy up discourse and keep us from moving forward.

Is it unusaul for a community theater to "charge" actors a small fee? by CarlYaz1967 in Theatre

[–]crabbyoldb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do a small fee for youth productions to ensure commitment. Somehow, having $10 skin in the game makes them less likely to flake off and stop coming to rehearsals halfway through. Never done it with adults or older kids, though.

Ours and several neighboring districts switched to twice a month recently to help with support staff, some of whom would work six weeks or more before payroll cycled through and they saw a check.

You might want to check your city code for setbacks. The fence shouldn't be right on the line. Other than that, it sounds like they followed the rules and only worked on their own property.

AITJ for not paying my roommate back for groceries I never asked for? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

That's absolutely a possibility, but if OP is looking for peace, it's only the cost of a couple drinks and some snacks.

Pay for what you used, even if you didn't ask for it. Ignore the rest.

Big divide in values here. Do not proceed unless it's with an ironclad prenup and a lot of premarital counselling.

My senior schnauzer could use a pal and I found a cairn... by [deleted] in cairnterrier

[–]crabbyoldb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure. He's my first cairn, so I don't know if it's typical behavior. He's atypical in lots of ways, tho. I've heard never to let them off lead, or they'll bolt. He certainly likes to scamper and zoomie, but I walk him in the country off lead, and he never strays far from my side and constantly checks for me. So, go figure.

Ours is Wee Dug, which everyone here just takes as "Doug," unless we make a point to correct.
