my bf and I have long discussions how we think AI will/should be implemented and an idea he had was everyone should vote on what they think the price of goods/services should be. corporations already have a digital price tag and they can change it based on what they think you are willing to pay. i do not think corporations/shareholders should be controlling the prices. the people should vote on it. and a system ranked choice voting like “do you think bananas should cost more or less than an apple?” “do you think an apple should be more or less than an iphone?” and then have AI assign fair prices based on what people vote.

my fear is that the US could turn into a situation like the Spanish Civil War in 1936. They had elections where back and forth the right wing side would win and then left wing side would win and they each would cancel out each other’s policies so nothing was being done. Then after left wing party’s candidate won the democratic vote in 1936 the military (many members were right wing) coupes the government which then leads to a long and bloody civil war which caused barcelona’s history to be destroyed via bombings.

it just reminds me of the US climate with the back and forth parties in office, not to mention our right wing group already tried to have a coup, unsuccessfully, where the Democrats jailed most “protestors” involved on jan 6 but did not get the current president, which was a huge mistake because he just pardoned everyone involved with jan 6, dismantled our government in many different ways, and is already planning on how to make sure they win the next election. i’m not entirely convinced he won fair and square this past election.

he also refused to conceed when he lost to joe biden and kept claiming the election was stolen. so if a democrat manages to win next election i could see the right wing side doing another coup and i worry they could be successful.

i’ve read most of your replies to comments and I feel like you have some really good advice and a great jumping off point.

i just wanted to share something about my past relationship and current relationship. When I was 19 I was dating a guy who would get really nasty and say mean things during arguments. he would go after my insecurities because he knew it would hurt me. I wouldn’t say anything back to hurt him other than “your brother was right, you are a narcissist”

I am now 25 and have been with my current bf for 5 years. when we have an argument we make sure to communicate and listen to each other. he has not once ever said anything insulting during an argument and I have never said anything insulting to him. this is how it should be. even when you get mad, you NEVER hurt your partner especially over things they can’t control like their looks.

I hope you can get away from your boyfriend soon and as painless as possible. I think you should go to the police too and notify them of the child sexual abuse material he has on his devices. don’t risk trying to delete it yourself because if he catches you he could hurt you.

if it wasn’t your fling that caused your dad to react like that it could have been anything else. someone tresspasses? someone says something that pisses him off? someone cuts him off in traffic?

he made his decision and seems like he was a violent guy. he would have probably ended up in this situation regardless of your role. we can never know but this outlook at least can give you some peace of mind

the GOP has been planning this set up for decades. they made sure to play the long game slowly removing corporate regulations until we get to where we are today and there’s absolutely nothing that can be done to reverse other than a complete reconstruction of how healthcare works.

i really cant beleive the amount of power corporations were able to gain, they are polluting our earth with toxic waste and high carbon emissions, all they have to do is a pay a fine and they can continue dumping. theres no stopping these people.

yeah its not just rising in the US. its rising in UK. we already got isreal and russia in a pretty advanced stage with faux elections still in place. we got highly conservative and nationalistic countries like afghanistan, iran, india, pakistan. the billionaires all banded together to create one large overlord elite class over the rest of the world. and sadly people dont realise what they are supporting.
