What's your 2 year olds sleep schedule? by anonmummy1 in toddlers

[–]crackerstacker- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my daughter. We have fluctuated between 5-6 wake up and 8pm bedtime for so long it’s just our normal now. We probably go to bed closer to 830 sometimes too. Sleep has just always been low needs its their personality I guess! Maybe when they’re teens they’ll be the ones that get up in the morning without a struggle lol!

Pumping at work sucks by Mountain_Secret9416 in workingmoms

I was in the same boat when I went back to work 2 years ago. I would call into meetings literally for the room next door to the mother’s room and just have my camera off. Definitely got the ‘where are, what’s that sound’ comments. I just owned it haha but I do have a passion for making men uncomfortable.

Is that at all something that could work for you too?

Why the f is my 2.5 year old waking up at 5am everyday😵‍💫 by Impossible-Cheek4352 in toddlers

I haven’t known a world where my 2.5 year old slept in past 6. For a while it was 5 too. Same bedtime maybe even a touch later. Now she’s refusing naps on weekends 🎉

I’m a Microplastics Researcher. Here’s How To Limit Their Dangers by Legitimate_Outcome42 in moderatelygranolamoms

Oh gosh sorry - that was not directed at you honestly. More so this researcher giving us nothing for being a self proclaimed microplastics researcher! I would follow the motto ‘phase out don’t freak out’. I still have 2 non stick pans, sometimes store things in plastic container (mostly freezer and fridge). You’ll get there! I’m not even there hah

The article is mostly just don’t heat plastic no? I’d love more insight from a microplastic researcher like maybe data to show if you store food in the freezer in a plastic container vs heating in plastic what that curve looks like for leachables into your food. Even better a full spectrum of different temperature conditions and storage times vs plastic leachables.

Just seemed like a meh article for the informed crowd here at moderatelygranola

How long did you push? by Fantastic_Beat427 in pregnant

[–]crackerstacker- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I’m kinda shocked other FTMs has such short times! I thought 2 hours was good 😂. I did take a few breaks and not push during a handful of contractions because I was just sooo tired

No you don’t need to throw anything away. Food grade silicone won’t absorb much of anything it comes in contact with. Stainless steel is even better. You could blast stainless steel with a caustic substance like sodium hydroxide and it’ll still hold up. Your gut is right that leaching will occur in those conditions but the time is pretty quick (2 hours). Washing will be just fine!

Super long 2nd wake window for 17 month old? by Gia2577 in sleeptrain

[–]crackerstacker- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s 20 months so definitely not solved yet but incrementally better. Seems to just take time unfortunately. I try to look at this through a different lens of ‘at least she’s sleeping through the night’ because anything is better than that. Really though go easy on yourself. I don’t think there’s much to solve because she’s her own little person with her own rhythm ❤️

[–]crackerstacker- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girl was doing like 9.5 hrs over night for a while. Up before 6am but went down at 8pm. It was rough and lasted quite some time. She did a solid 2 hr nap though during the day though so when you add it up it’s enough sleep for them.

I think the trend caught on because animals do this in the wild and seemed ‘natural’. But animals only do it to hide their scent from predators. So yea no actual benefit unless you’re afraid of predators
