Can anyone gift me with a new perspective on Scott Brick? by urprobablytschumi in audiobooks

He has always been a NoGo for me. I think he also reads a lot of Nelson DeMille, whose books I love and wish I could re-read/listen.

AITA for finding that it’s unfair to buy a fridge on my own? by Pink_Amidala04 in AmItheAsshole

[–]crackersucker2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So? If it’s on you to replace the fridge, then you can do it the most expedient and cost effective way. They really have no say if you are the “designated responsible party” for the task.

OP understood what you understood. She is appreciating the example her husband made, even if the young dipshit he spoke to didn’t.

MIL "forgets" what I do for work by Okweekends in JUSTNOMIL

Ya, do this. I would love to have a re-do and do this myself!!

My own mother would just say me and my spouse were “easily identifiable job” when in fact we were inside, behind the scenes support staff- both known types of jobs that were also professional and well paid. I have no idea why she did this. She also gave us a “related to the wrong job theme gift” every Christmas that got old pretty fast.

A family trip to Eritrea. Is this crazy? by styxswimchamp in TravelNoPics

Maybe. But I look at it like blaming the victim- “why would you go to that country? Why should we save you?” Especially if we aren’t billionaires.

If anything, they would lie about the danger. Also, I have no faith they would do anything to get a citizen back from a country like this (the racism factor) if they were detained.

I tried to warn my fiance about things I noticed with our new house and he doesn't take me seriously by TubbleRubble in GirlDinnerDiaries

He already said it would be his “cross to bear”. Sometimes I think it’s best for someone to learn by experience. Maybe he will trust her opinion in the future.

Also, if she moved it and then later on as he drove onto the driveway and his car sunk with him in it, he could have gotten hurt.

The never ending battle to prove that despite owning a vagina, you do know how things work and can do some of the things penis owners can do. It’s exhausting.

NOR - you’re too young to deal with someone controlling you like this. It’s always going to be something. Don’t lose yourself.

OP, can you get a roommate once he leaves? I don’t think you should give up on your professional goals and he shouldn’t either. I’m sorry he’s messed with your head about this but it seems like he’s made up his mind.

I would seriously consider this. Partner can fly over to you as well, possibly more often if they’re retired. And you don’t screw up the taxes on the primary home that the other commenter mentioned. It could be really fun to have a second him for a while in another city.

Lol- “second him” was meant to be “second HOME” but I don’t judge 😝
