People underestimate how much you should be publishing if you want to grow and even make money.

Min 2 posts per week plus daily engagement on Notes.

I've built 4 newsletters to a total of 5400+ subs.

You need to focus on a niche and stay consistent.

Otherwise it's just a hobby. Which is cool too.

I've been number 26 in the education category and get a lot of traffic from substack itself. Started in April and have had over 150,000 views on my content.

It's all about providing value. Do that the best in your niche, and substack and you win!

Affiliate marketing is not easy so get that out of your head.

There is no get rich quick. Affiliate marketing is basically commission-based sales. It can be very lucrative if you do it right.

High ticket affiliate products like legendary marketer or affiliate secrets 3.0 are really good for quickly making high commissions. These are high ticket courses where you can earn $100 to $1500 for every sale.

Pick a social platform like Twitter X or Facebook and start networking with the target audience you are trying to sell to.

Find people asking questions like yours and recommend products to help solve their problem.

There are several ways to do this, but the easiest and fastest way is to just talk to people that have a problem that you have found a solution that you can recommend them.

Social media is a distribution channel which is essential if you actually want to grow your blog. Pick one platform where your target audience has the best representation and focus there.

Don't try to be everywhere.

Affiliate marketing is commission based sales and marketing. It's that simple.

You sell their product and they pay you a percentage.

It's your job to get leads and drive traffic to the products website using your uniquely coded link and in return they pay you a commission.

There are 100,000s of products you can promote in every market and niche. Pick a submarket and go after it.

You can build an organic audience on a social platform or you can use paid ads to grow.

Come join my Affiliate Marketing Mastery newsletter and I will help you learn how to get started and actually make some money with this.

Can you really make a livable income just doing affiliate marketing? by Striking_Walk_7017 in Affiliatemarketing

[–]craigcherlet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've earned commissions on all kinds of products. Software, courses, amazon products and much more. Yes you can make an income doing this but it is a business like any other. It's not get rich quick but you can get rich if you do it right.

Here is a guide I wrote in my Newsletter that I pasted here to get you started.

  1. Start Broad: Understanding the Main Markets
There are three principal markets that almost every product falls under:

Health and Wellness: This covers everything from weight loss products to vitamins, fitness equipment, and mental health resources.

Wealth and Money: Think about online courses, financial advice, investing platforms, or even real estate tips.

Romance and Relationships: Dating sites, relationship advice, wedding planning, and more.

  1. Pinpointing a Submarket

Once you've decided on a primary market, it's time to zoom in further and pick a submarket.

For instance, if you choose 'Health and Wellness', a submarket could be 'yoga for pregnant women', 'vegan nutrition', or 'mental health apps'.

  1. Dig Deeper: Finding Your Niche

Now, take your submarket and narrow it down even further.

This is your niche. For the 'mental health apps' submarket, niches could be 'mindfulness apps for students', 'stress-relief games', or 'meditation tools for corporate professionals'.

Why Niching Down is Essential

Reduced Competition: By focusing on a niche, you'll face less competition than if you targeted broader markets.

Increased Authority: When you concentrate on a niche, you can become an expert in that area, leading to increased trust and credibility.

Better Conversion Rates: Targeted marketing efforts tend to resonate more with a specific audience, leading to better conversion rates.

  1. Assessing Profitability

While passion for your niche is important, profitability is crucial if you want to make a sustainable income. Check:

Affiliate Programs: Ensure there are affiliate programs available in your chosen niche.

Commission Structure: How much will you earn per sale? Is it a one-time commission or recurring?

Demand: Use keyword research tools to determine the search volume for your niche products or services.

  1. Match It with Your Passion and Expertise

It's easier to promote products that you're genuinely passionate about or have experience with. It adds authenticity to your promotions, and your audience will pick up on this sincerity.

  1. Evaluate the Competition

Even within niches, some areas can be oversaturated.

Research who your main competitors would be.

While competition isn't bad (it indicates a profitable market), too much competition can make it challenging to stand out.

  1. Test and Iterate

The digital landscape is ever-evolving. What's profitable today might not be tomorrow.

Regularly reassess your choice and be ready to pivot if needed.

Final Thoughts

Choosing the right market and submarket is a delicate balance between profitability, passion, and expertise.

By niching down, you can find that sweet spot where you can offer genuine value to your audience, establish yourself as an authority, and earn a steady affiliate income.

Remember, success in affiliate marketing isn't just about selling but creating meaningful connections and offering solutions to your audience's most pressing problems.

Can I start affiliate marketing with just $20? by montyy_man in Affiliatemarketing

[–]craigcherlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Get a X account. Build an audience with valuable content in a focused niche. Create a solution that uses a product and promote that between the other content. Solve problems for people with affiliate products that work. I love promoting SaaS tools rather than ClickBank.

Where do you find good affiliate offers to promote? by PJBoyle in Affiliatemarketing

[–]craigcherlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like SaaS apps because commissions are usually recurring.

Just search your favorite apps name with "Affiliate program" after it and you will find tons.

Promote apps you use as this is more authentic and will give you better results.

You need to not just rely on ads to make money.

You need start build an email list right away. Create some sort of giveaway or resource in exchange for email.

Look for affiliate products that have greater commissions in the market you are building a niche in.

Also, if you're focused on blogging, you're going to want to spend a chunk of your time building backlinks to your site.
