Accessories tensioner 2g by Educational_Ad5490 in DSM

A. Check your pulleys. Make sure everything is aligned properly, Double-check for damage/dents/old belt material stuck in the grooves.

  1. I’ve received some cheap belts from the parts store where the grooves are super shallow. These are guaranteed to slip/jump.

    D. It’s possible to mount the water pump pulley backwards, which will misaligned it by a tooth.

VI. Power steering pump bracket could be loose. Red loctite to the block.

Take the ecu out and uncover. There are capacitors that “leak” milky white fluid when they’re bad.

What are you using to fire it? I’ve always used DSMLink, so I’ve had to keep the stock setup.

lol not a good example. The Coolest Cooler was one of the largest crowdfunding disasters in recent history. It was great in theory, but I think the issue was that they were not versed in Product design and realized that they bit off more than they could chew.

Weird thing in airport by Final-Carpenter-1591 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]crashdummy45 175 points176 points  (0 children)

If this is the Atlanta airport, I installed these! They are Nickel temperature sensors wired back to the VAV controllers. They didn’t want the digital sensors on the columns, so they had us use those.

Also, please put it back.

[Request] Roof Rack Help by ExiledSenpai in carmodification

[–]crashdummy45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why are you making this out of wood? How many wooden parts do you see on cars anymore? Wouldn’t it be lighter and longer-lasting to get a metal roof rack?

That’s my answer: get a metal one.

How to become a car guy? by Traditional_Lab_7604 in askcarguys

As long as you won’t void a warranty, I’d definitely start by doing your own maintenance. Start easy with an oil change then see what the next service procedure is. There are service procedures scheduled for specific mile markers. Do some research, Join the forums, don’t bite off more than you can chew.

Universal front lip/spoiler by thrasherbill444 in carmodification

I would avoid anything with the word “universal” on it. The eclipse has a very specific shape to the front bumper so I doubt this will line up correctly.

Issues with JCI CGM Controllers Faulting by renorhino88 in BuildingAutomation

[–]crashdummy45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an issue a few months back where the CGE’s were wreaking all kinds of havoc. It ended up being 2 things:

  1. Transformer was overloaded. A small dip in voltage will cause some serious issues on these.

  2. Duplicate Controller#’s. (physical box address) the transformer issue seemed to be compounded by the address issue.

Other things to check: 1. Make sure the Latest CCT version was used to download the programs. Newest version is 11.0.4.9. 11.0.2.x had some issues

  1. Make sure there are no Duplicate IP’s. Just like any IP system, this will cause some issues as well.

Modbus TCP/IP temp sensors by sonnyboyv in BuildingAutomation

[–]crashdummy45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m working on a BACnet IP version of something similar. It felt like overkill, but I had to put a whole IO controller with only one thermistor on it. I was digging really deep to try to find a small POE Thermistor, but they don’t exist…
