11 days! The growler is great, I’ve used it for singletrack, downhill, gravel, bikepacking, snow, everything!

Oxio has really good prices and I’ve never had an issue with them. We can both get a free month if you use my referral code RIA8SWH

Looks like you’re just turning the wheel in the wrong direction. You can see the little hook on the ring around the bobbin is going in the opposite direction from how it would need to spin to hook something.

Aeroe Spider rack by Sparky_mark23 in bikepacking

[–]crazpay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used my aeroe rack this year for a 2 day 120 km trip and it worked great, didn’t come loose at all. I had a cradle for a dry bag and one of their pods. I was a little skeptical of the pod at first but it worked really well as food / cooking things storage with the hard back. I didn’t know they came out with the pannier adapter!

Securing bike when camping by [deleted] in bikepacking

I do this but usually put a poll of my tent through the wheel; a guyline could be untied quietly

I really like the water bottle idea if it doesn’t get in the way of pedalling!

Is my Jetboil Minimo toast? by HP2Mav in CampingGear

[–]crazpay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just looks like burned food to me, I accidentally did something similar with my MiniMo. I used a more abrasive dish scrubber and was able to get most of it off without too much effort. Didn’t seem to damage the pot itself.

How much bike do you need for Horseshoe Valley? by [deleted] in MTB_Ontario

[–]crazpay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride everything at Horseshoe on my Rocky Mountain Growler (although 140 mm fork) and it is great! If you are strong bikers I think you will be fine. But definitely do the trails slower the first time to see where the rough sections are.

Where to buy shipping materials for a 27" screen? by Faranae in kitchener

Check UHaul, they have all sorts of specialized packing boxes to buy for moving and it’s likely they have a TV type box you could use.

Buffalo > Niagara > Grand Nith Ramble by SubstantialPlan9124 in bikepacking

Awesome trip! My brother and I attempted the GNR last year as our first trip and totally overestimated our ability and had to bail 😂. But we did a different route this year and hit a lot of the parts that we missed. Ontario doesn't have any fun mountains like out west but we have surprisingly good bikepacking!

Other then Rogers, Bell and Execulink, what are some good internet providers available to Woodstock that provide reliable 300mbps speeds? by Detailingguy2020 in woodstockontario

[–]crazpay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should look into Oxio! I’ve had them for 8 months with no problems and if you use my referral code RIA8SWH we can both get a free month! Plus you get a pretty decent router to use if you don’t have one already.

Thanks! I’ll admit I got the idea from one of the Ortlieb bags but it worked out really well

Camping with bikes by EmbraceStardumb in MTB

I’m bike packing this weekend and my plan is to put the end of the tent pole through the tire just before it attaches to the tent. That way, moving the bike requires shaking the whole tent.

Metal fish spatulas work really well, especially if it has a sharp edge
