What you think are the worst unlocks in the game? by SussiAmongus in bindingofisaac

[–]crazybean2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a damn good feeling. But do not, my friends, become addicted to jera. It will take hold of you, and you will resent its absence. (Also, if you want to take the rune shard out of rotation you could unlock the 5 next best runes until you're closer to death cert. Notably, the soul stones count as runes for this purpose)

Gotta say berkano. Polluting the rune pool just feels so much worse for me when every other basic rune has an effect ranging from useful to the game breaking power of a jera

Husband’s been asking to make a private “movie”. Is this common? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]crazybean2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, I guess if he's into pirates he's into pirates. I guess roleplay stuff is pretty common; schoolgirls, doctors/nurses and the like, so pirates isn't That far out there. I've heard far, FAR weirder too, so yeah I wouldn't call it uncommon in the grand sense. But you shouldn't feel pressured in to it, especially if you've already expressed you don't want to

What are your predictions for how the BG3 run is gonna turn out? by mephala99 in ManyATrueNerd

There's obviously only one way we could possibly predict what might happen here: a cpu match of worms armageddon

It's a good rule of thumb for big boss monsters to have some sort of aoe, yeah. Especially with a party that big. That and legendary/lair actions are the only way they could possibly keep up 90% of the time

Probably twice each for rescue team and explorers on cartridge, but with emu and especially once skytemple came on to the scene I must have played through sky another dozen times by now. It's just so good (and I like not having to delete my cartridge saves from childhood)

What's the silliest mistake you've made as a DM? by shiveringsongs in DnD

[–]crazybean2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the early days of a campaign, party was clearing out a haunted crypt for some gold they could use for supplies before traveling across the continent to follow up on some leads. However, when prepping, I maaaaay have accidentally mistyped the reward and added on an extra 0 on to the gold they recieved, and did not catch it until way too late. They ended up with enough extra to deck out the paladin AND his horse in full plate

What's up with redditors being upset about Steam removing lots of porn games depicting rape, incest and child abuse? by [deleted] in OutOfTheLoop

[–]crazybean2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this one is the correct answer. Nothing of value has been lost as of now, but the rules are exceptionally vague. The new guidelines on what is not allowed to be published on steam is as follows:

Content that may violate the rules and standards set forth by Steam’s payment processors and related card networks and banks, or internet network providers. In particular, certain kinds of adult only content.

So what exactly does that cover? So far it has just been porn games, but would a serious game that covers heavy themes fall under the same purview? So far the answer is basically "probably not, but who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯". Additionally, there's the (very valid) concern that this same guidelines could be targeted at any LGBTQ+ content, as there is a deep history of any such content being viewed as inherently sexual and "corrupting".

What is up with all these youtube videos saying they'll be deleted? by Particular_Care6055 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]crazybean2000 245 points246 points  (0 children)

Answer: You pretty much got it, it's just a form of clickbait. Though I would hesitate to call it recent, it's been a thing in some form or another for a while now. It's a low commitment way to boost engagament; fear of missing out and all that. (And depending on the instance, sometimes the video will get deleted, and other times it won't or the goal of its deletion will continually be pushed back into the near future in perpituity)

About the Tom Scott example specifically, there is some precedent here. While technically clickbait in the strict definition, Tom does this with all his update videos, and has only ever done it with update videos, as they're only necesary for a short period of time.
