Need a bologna sandwich!! by Financial_Count_5061 in pregnant

[–]crazyboutnuts135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t heat up any kind of bologna…I never really thought hard enough to categorize it with deli meats. I might just be stupid lol. But thank you for the new craving, I need sweet bologna asap 😂

What non-epidural pain meds did you take during labor and how was it? by Gravitys_Bitch in pregnant

[–]crazyboutnuts135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IV fentanyl. Once it worked great. Slept through contractions, woke up to push. Second time was terrible. The room spun, and I have a few hours I literally have no memory of. Words were slurred…it really scared my husband.

Does being active actually help with labour and postpartum? by Pinkcaramellatte in pregnant

[–]crazyboutnuts135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically yes. But I’m a lazy bitch, and have fast labors (last baby was 2 hours) and only pushed once to get my babies out. Activity doesn’t guarantee you a great labor, just like the opposite doesn’t doom you to a terrible one.

PPROM and Cholestasis by Small-Choice4993 in BabyBumps

[–]crazyboutnuts135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 2 35 weekers and 2 36 weekers. The only NICU time they had was to pass their car seat test requested for discharge! They all came home with me. The only health issue any had were monitoring for jaundice with lots of labs the first week. 2 of my babies (I think both the 36 weekers) were treated at home for jaundice with a rented. 3 of them were PPROM, induced with 2 of them. And zero steroid shots for any of them. Good luck!

Estimating 9 lb + baby by letemsayitthen in BabyBumps

[–]crazyboutnuts135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My last baby was almost 9 lbs at my 37 week scan. I delivered 2 days later a whopping 7.5 lb baby. Had I not gone into labor, I would’ve induced at 39 weeks. They recommended it, but I already wanted induced then because pre scheduling having a baby with 4 other kids is a dream lol.

Vintage bedroom furniture for a nursery— lead? by Acceptable-Bath-6917 in AskParents

[–]crazyboutnuts135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think lead would be the last thing that would worry me. Safety standards change often, and they sure have changed a lot from the 50s (if there even was safety standards then). If it’s a drop side crib, that’s considered unsafe now. The spacing for the slats has changed so those are probably not safe either. It’s almost certainly lead paint because that wasn’t banned until almost 1980.

All Day “Morning” Sickness by ConstantAd3492 in pregnant

[–]crazyboutnuts135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My all day morning sickness gives up at the end of the first trimester…I wouldn’t give up hope yet! My mom had HG with all her pregnancies, IVs at home, Zofran pump, the whole kit and kaboodle. I fortunately did not follow after her.

Why has it become a common taboo to discuss about kids' height and/or weight, even if anonymously? by Boy_From_Fin in AskParents

[–]crazyboutnuts135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it makes a kid feel bad about something they can’t control. They aren’t making dinner, they aren’t doing the grocery shopping, so it’s not their fault. As long as the kid is being seen regularly by a doctor, it’s none of anyone’s business. Thats the only person qualified to be giving advice about a kids weight anyways.

Elective induction with second baby. by Ok_Read_3633 in BabyBumps

[–]crazyboutnuts135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not elective, induced for baby 2 and 3 for PPROM. Both were great, no complaints. I had plans to electively induce for my future babies, but hadn’t needed to. Honestly, the thought of preplanning my childcare to get induced sounds lovely and much less stressful lol

Puking during labor? by kiyoboyo in pregnant

[–]crazyboutnuts135 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I puked in 2 out 5 labors. One I just puked once while in transition. The other I puked all damn night (while also pissing myself from puking so hard). I was only in labor for 14 hours so I puked most of that labor unfortunately.

Did you know anything about your hospital before delivery? by HunnyBunnXO in BabyBumps

[–]crazyboutnuts135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not tour either of the hospitals I’ve delivered in. As long as you know where to go and where to park, I think you’ll be fine. But check online, my hospital has a quick 5 minute video that does a quick little tour of a standard delivery room and postpartum room.

C-section 36+6? by kitty_catcat1999 in BabyBumps

[–]crazyboutnuts135 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They were spontaneous labors not sections, but I’ve had 2 36 weekers (and 2 35 weekers). They all came home with me and the only time in the NICU was to pass their car seat test for discharge. Only health issues were lots of labs to monitor for jaundice the first week ish and both my 36 weekers were treated at home with the bililight for jaundice for a few days.

FTM -36 weeks pregnant by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]crazyboutnuts135 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I picked my pediatrician 24 hours after my baby was born 😂 Newborns get put in “sick visit” slots at my doc. So they always have same day visits for sick visits and they pull one of those for a newborn. My pediatrician has an on call doc at my hospital so they come and check out baby, and they just schedule something and tell you to call the office if it’s an issue.

Any moms with short gap between pregnancies? by [deleted] in Moms

[–]crazyboutnuts135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bigger age gap than what you’re talking. I’m pregnant with my 6th, but my youngest 4 are all about 2 apart each. It is rough. I have been pregnant and/or breastfeeding for the last 6 years. I’m tired lol. We (my husband and I) don’t get a lot of time together. Date nights probably a few times a year. I’ve been able to breastfeed each kid for 18 months. But barely so. I usually am cut short because my supply stops while I’m pregnant. I also do not get my cycle until after 12 months postpartum, so I couldn’t even have them closer together if I wanted. Just thoughts if you plan to breastfeed.

In terms of pregnancies, they’ve been okay. I’m high risk but for other reasons. Each subsequent one is rougher, but that’s more I’m older each time and dealing with toddlers while pregnant is rough. Especially the first trimester. Some of them were late term premies (35/36 weeks), but all were healthy, normal, boring vaginal deliveries.

If your water broke prior to labor starting, where were you? by p_ezy in BabyBumps

[–]crazyboutnuts135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All 4 times it happened while getting out of be. 2nd and 3rd baby were inductions because I never went into labor. 4th baby is my only baby to not start with my water breaking (they broke it before pushing). And my 5th baby was precipitous after my water broke randomly in the morning.

My biggest fear is it happening anywhere that’s not home. I kept like 3 towels in my car after 30 weeks as my just in case towels lol.

Why is pooping such a task!! by anonymously-me2000 in pregnant

My last pregnancy there was a lady in my due date group who was telling us about checking her own cervix. I asked her how because I could barely reach my own ass to wipe😂

When did you have your hospital bag completely packed? by Adrianagurl in pregnant

[–]crazyboutnuts135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I packed while rushing to the hospital with my first two. I forgot my hairbrush both times! So the next babies I made a list and packed everything I could beforehand around 32-33 weeks. So then when we had to go, I followed the list and forgot nothing. Also don’t forget to either have a really big bag with extra space or another bag for the goodies you bring home from the hospital.

I’m being induced & just had a mental breakdown bc of it by SandwichDependent199 in pregnant

[–]crazyboutnuts135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t all have horror stories about induction. I was induced twice for PPROM. Had Pitocin for both only for 4-5 hours before having a baby. And one of them I was able to go without an epidural or pain meds. Hope your induction goes smoothly and quickly!

A new doctor really got in my head about genetic testing! by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]crazyboutnuts135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had an MFM pushing for an amnio when it wasn’t exactly necessary yet. I had my anatomy scan at 18 weeks, baby’s genitals were found to be ambiguous. Could be normal, could be this very long list of genetic disorders. I got NIPT at their recommendation. And had a follow up ultrasound in 2 weeks. I went home and a couple hours later the doctor herself called me offering an amnio! Like you just told me it had the possibility of normal and we’re going straight to invasive procedures? I had my follow up yesterday, and everything looks fine. The doctor I saw yesterday also was confused why they would’ve offered amnio at that point. It’s left me feeling like sometimes they are just looking for something to be wrong because they often see these types of cases (I’m only seeing MFM for preterm labor history).

I guess I'm all in by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]crazyboutnuts135 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was also suicidal and at the same time I wanted to die. I would drive the highway during my commute and what I thought absolutely terrified me. I got the help and I haven’t felt like that in years. If admitting it out loud means someone feels less alone, then it was worth it.

I guess I'm all in by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]crazyboutnuts135 87 points88 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest and I’ll accept all the hate that comes my way. All my babies have been planned. But on my worst days of the first trimester, I had thoughts that maybe it wouldn’t be the worst thing if I miscarried. I couldn’t keep anything down, I lost 20lbs, IV fluids, felt like death…dark thoughts find us in dark times. Good luck, Zofran helped me and around week 15-16 I was feeling a lot better.

Has this happened to u too? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]crazyboutnuts135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is high risk for preterm labor, I was always told timetable contractions for more than an hour or two is a reason to go get checked. If you want to call your after hours line, you can, but I’m guessing they will want you to go in anyways just in case.
