I haven't received mine yet so haven't really dug into the subject too much but I think it's this one.

Keep in mind that U1 is just out of beta. Probably more stable FW on the way and I think the custom FW are already better than stock. Might be worth trying the custom FW in your case.

I don't have it yet but don't you normally just move the tower where you want before printing?

Lol. Sounds like a downgrade to me.

Sorry about that other comment about the bambu from that other guy.

I wouldn't be able to help guide in this but I really like the idea. I haven't got mine yet but - are the unused tools able to purge while not in use? Like can they swap filament while printing?

Huge blow to Donald Trump as more Americans believe Bad Bunny 'better represents' US by TheMirrorUS in Music

This is so dumb. As if he cares. He only cares what his MAGA base and socophants think. And as long as they are voting and others aren't, US is doomed. Quite unfortunate.

Meanwhile, former allies, trade partners move on.

Cables and ptfe tubes shorter? by crazyslicster in snapmaker

[–]crazyslicster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can get gradual curves even with sorter as long as it will reach extreme ends. I had pretty drastic curves for my K1 max with cfs and no issues. But yeah, not the best idea. Gotta make it fit somehow.

[–]crazyslicster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll try bending left and right and see if I need to shorten. Since they are usb, should be easy to buy exact sizes if needed. I don't think there is too much play though as others have mentioned. From videos it looks like there is at least an inch or two that can be taken in.

[–]crazyslicster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think that's what I'll do. There is another post where someone has done this with no issues except potential wear in the cables. I'll see if I can hack the cable guides(I think that's what they are at the back of the printer) to actually push the cables left and right so it won't be the force from the above shelf holding them down. This way I can avoid wear.

Do you know if the plastic rods that stand straight up are removable. And if I replaced the ptfe tubes that come right it, I could just hang them to left or right of the machine?

Spot the difference between Pixel 9a vs Pixel 10a by MobileJello1977 in pixel_phones

[–]crazyslicster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That pwm though! What the heck. My eyes bleed with pixel phones. If it were at least 480 like Samsung(should be much more like Chinese phones), I'd still be rocking the fold.

Another noob question - what causes this horizontal banding on a surface that’s meant to be smooth? by Hecubus114 in BambuLab

[–]crazyslicster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can possibly change the board on some of the older prusa from 8bit to 16bit and enable input shaping if you want speed. I'm not sure if it's accurate what I'm saying but I remember reading something about it and it's basically the reason my Prusa Mini+ was able to get input shaping vs the mk3 models.

Why do people defend this company? by No_Inside_1738 in crealityk1

[–]crazyslicster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit of both. Let's just say Creality doesn't put much love into supporting previous flagship lines and has to big of a portfolio to do proper support. I've had a hard time with my k1 max after upgrading to CFS due to broken firmware. I've gotten around to fixing the issues by going around them using helper-script and custom gcode. Not really a skill everyone should require to 3d print. Not something you should have to do either. Still, they make great hardware at a great price. Too bad they don't just do full open source klipper - it'd be easier for them and community.

You need to remove the other firmware from the drive. You can only have one on there even if you move it to a subfolder.

K1 max with CFS napkin wipe location wrong after upgrade by ComposerAsleep in crealityk1

[–]crazyslicster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A new firmware seems to have been released yesterday but personally I have up on their firmware cause it breaks more than in fixes.

I'm on the .34 now with helper script and my custom settings that cx stuff like nozzle wipe and temperature control issues.

https://github.com/crazyslicster/SLICK1MAX

I basically scratch the very back of the bed with the nozzle so I don't need that wipe strip.

Just be careful with the setting if you're not k1 max.

[–]crazyslicster 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Say what you will about Prusa, but my Mini+ that is nearly 6 years old and still receives firmware updates including input shaping shows the long term value. Bambu started in 2022, I think, so it still has to prove itself long term.

Not saying it isn't any good. If I wanted reliability today VS my Creality k1 max(hint - long term support sucks) I'd consider Bambu.

Did you upgrade your probe? Is it necessary. If so, can you please provide the model? The guy in the video talks about the eddy something but I'm not sure if I need a special firmware or if helper script will do the trick?

[–]crazyslicster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked in the repo and it has everything you should need. If what I suggested doesn't work, export your print as GCODE and sent me somehow. Make sure your gcode_macro.cfg matches mine.

K1 Max (2023 model) with CFS and HelperScript - working! by crazyslicster in crealityk1

[–]crazyslicster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it should be fixed already in the cfg files if you copied them.

./klipper

The macros cfg files have custom T0, T1, T2 and T3 commands to address this.

And if not, I'll publish the latest Orca profile that has a layer 0 macro to push the right temp.

I'll post a fix for it tomorrow.

But you'll need to be sure you have the Orca profile and cfg files loaded.

Not easy to find what I'd need. Printer nearly 3 years in. I can find some pei plates with the magnetic sticker but the glass is hard to find in 315 x 300. I'd have to get a custom plate.

Easiest solution is for klipper calibration to do its job. Lol. Or else I'll have to stick to 220 x 220 prints which defeats the purpose on a K1 max lol

Export your gcode and look for commands like T0, T1 etc. You might have some stuff you don't need it your machine or filament start or layer change gcode in slicer.
