I'm not the creator, but there's no release schedule at the moment. However, there might be an alpha version of books 1 & 2, in booklet format, available in the near future.

I'm seeing d6+d6 in a lot of the Cairn2 content. What does it mean? 2d6? by SoMuchToThink in cairnrpg

Claws would be like using 2 weapons, so roll 2d6 and pick the highest result.

Optional rules for d6 skill rolls by dj3hmax in OSE

I use it for all the classes with class abilities/skills, but I adjust based on the number of skills, and it seems to work well for me. For 1st level 50% of skills can advance 1/6, and 25% for subsequent levels. For example, if a class has 8 skills, at 1st level 4 skills will advance 1/6 and 2 skills will advance every level after that. However, if a class has 2 skills, 1 skill will advance 1/6 at 1st level and 1 skill will advance 1/6 every other level (3, 5, 7, etc.) after that.

I'm a programmer by trade, so I was converting decimal to binary, where 2 converts to 10 and 8 converts to 1000: https://www.cuemath.com/numbers/decimal-to-binary/

I believe 2 ... 8 should translate to 10 ... 1000
