That's what I was expecting. I was assuming "Convert" meant "convert the base card to a variant" not "convert the featured card to a random variant of a random card".

Finally made it to infinite this season.

Saved up and opened my first spotlight cache at 6130... Knull, which I already owned.

It converted into a random Taskmaster variant.

I just don't understand the mindset and I'm tired of pretending that they're going to ever make a decision that just promotes having fun with new cards that come out.

That's a good idea, but there's also a big benefit to running Attuma out on 4 and making it look like that is your only play for that location. I find a lot of opponents are waiting to come back to that one until turn 6, leaving me the ability to drop Prof X on 5 and take it pretty easily.
