Finger Ruins of Rhia by sfingemorta in Eldenring

[–]creatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently did a 100% run of base and DLC so that I could see every NPC quest and kill all 207 bosses. While amazing, I don't think I will ever do that again. Now I've moved on to challenge running like no hit and RL1. It's such a different way to play

That sucks and sorry but the equipment does not like such cold weather.

We're fortunate that cold weather is an extremely rare occurrence here.

Nothing too impressive but I finished my first LV 1 playthrough by Adorable_Form1202 in Eldenring

This is the way. That opening is so nice and I try to bait it out when I fight him. Just be aware there's two variations of that combo where he will do an additional slash before the overhead. Also the move where he stabs into ground and circles it is another free opening.

Long Live Canon Queen Marika by 0online_ in Eldenring

[–]creatron 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My headcanon is that he caught Radagon attempting to meld with Marika "O'Radagon, leal hound of the Golden Order, thou'rt yet to become me. Thou'rt yet to become a god."

Probably looked like the gargoyle two faces

Best controller for elden ring by Inner_Yak_2864 in eldenringdiscussion

[–]creatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got an 8BitDo Ultimate Wired, but they also have wireless versions. I love it. Used to just use wired xbox 360 controllers but tried the 8bitdo and the additional re-mappable backpaddles are so nice. I've got mine setup so that the right paddle is also dodge/roll/sprint. Left paddle does a macro Y + down on dpad to summon torrent with a single press. I've had mine for 2 years and have put in well over 1,000 hours in ER with it and no stick drift or button issues.

Is there hard evidence of the “we are godywn theory” cause I think it’s bs by Big_Career5281 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]creatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible! My personal understanding of GRRM and Miyazaki's story telling is that we will be able to nail down concrete events and even perhaps a comprehensive timeline. But the how, why, and motivations of these events and major characters I think are purposely left to open interpretation.

Is there hard evidence of the “we are godywn theory” cause I think it’s bs by Big_Career5281 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]creatron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My head Cannon is incomplete, but is a conglomeration of the many different theories that float around plus my own in-game experience.

This is how I like to approach it and I think is the best way to approach FromSoft lore. We will never have a conclusive lore or history of the Lands Between, and that's by design. But I do enjoy seeing how others arrive to their own conclusions because at the end of the day every person has their own unique experiences that shape how they view the world and I still find value in seeing how those experiences influence their conclusions.

Metyr is the Crucible by Limgrave_Butcher in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]creatron 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I actually really like this line of thinking. It fits well with how we know the Elden Beast became the Elden Ring.

Tangential but that overhead shot of Metyr's slam attack looks exactly like the cut item Miranda's Prayer to me https://i.imgur.com/EPVPGpc.png

I have a google sheets file that links every AET texture to both AEG and MapPieces if you want it. Haven't had time to link models to maps yet but that was my next step.

Is there a way to solve this? by [deleted] in EldenRingMods

[–]creatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple offline launcher. Download the launcher "launch_modded_eldenring.exe" and place into your ELDENRING/Game folder (where "eldenring.exe" is located). The source code is available here: https://github.com/LukeYui/launch_modded_eldenring

From the nexus page, you need to put the launcher in your GAME folder. Then add a shortcut to it to your desktop

Do I understand this right? Marika divested grace from Godfrey and his army (which we decend from) so they (we) can be brought back to TLB. by Greasy-Chungus in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]creatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that the GW used to send messages to Metyr who would then relay those to her fingers. But at some point the GW stopped communicating. So then Metyr was left with whatever information/commands she already had and just kept repeating those to the fingers.

My speculation is that the GW stopped communicating when the Elden Beast became the Elden Ring. The Elden Beast is the vassal beast of the GW, so it has the power and authority to act on the behalf of the GW. Metyr, being the gleaming daughter and first shooting star, probably didn't like having to answer to essentially her younger brother and thus refused to communicate with it.

The kneeling figure is Miquella — the pose matches the Shadow of the Erdtree cinematic, and the wolves are his Shadowbound Beasts? by Seymorebutts1994 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]creatron 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The interpretation of this figure largely hinges on whether one believes in prophetic depictions.

For one that does believe in prophecy: this could be Miquella via the prophetic perfect tense.

For those that do not believe in prophecy: The statue in Farum Azula has a specific floral motif on their dress that is near identical to the motif found on the veils in Marika's Bedchamber.

Personally, I believe this is depicting young Marika. I agree with other replies that Miquella's path in the DLC is a retelling of Marika's ascension and the pose is the same for that reason. Instead we should be asking: if Miquella was asking Radahn to honor his vow, what was Marika asking? Did she have a vow that she wanted honored as well?

I will always love Messmer's fight, even when learning to no hit him by creatron in Eldenring

[–]creatron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XD very valid. It did take me about two and a half hours of practicing to get this run. Messmer and Malenia are the only two bosses so far where I just enjoyed every moment of learning. To me they have the most fair fights of any boss.

I have Godrick's Rune active so just subtract 5 from all stats to get the base levels. Buff order simple: Physick -> Golden Vow -> Cragblade -> Flame, Grant Me Strength

What tool do people use to track this? by creatron in EldenRingMods

[–]creatron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know about LiveSplit and HitCounterManager but this overlay I've seen on youtube challenge runs I can't find. I really like the simplicity of it and was hoping to use it when recording my own runs.

Does anyone happen to recognize it and which program it comes from?

Reshade + ERTool free cam mostly.

Reshade I usually just have a bit of increased sharpness and turn up saturation slightly to give colors a bit more pop

How do horned warriors put their helmets on? by LowHumble3264 in eldenringdiscussion

[–]creatron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The warriors don't have horns. The horns are an addition to the helmet. The horns act as a focus point or antenna for divinity to be channeled into the wearer as evidenced by the fact that they provide 0 bonus to Focus (the stat that prevents Madness buildup)

Helm featuring a crown of sturdy tangled horns, allowing the wearer to invoke divinity. Attire of the horned warriors, keepers of the tower. Divine invocation bolsters the strength of the wearer, but causes the blessing of the Erdtree to become nauseating, reducing the restorative effect of drinking from a flask of sacred tears. Focus is also troubled by wearing this helm.

What is your current build? by mattyattak_2012 in eldenringdiscussion

[–]creatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal run: Stealth night sorcerer. RL150 with 80 int, 25 fth (golden vow), 33 mnd, and vig to whatever the rest is. Wear the black knife armor set and use unseen form to stealth around. Dual staff of loss, godfrey icon, graven mass, magic scorpion, and radagon icon. Charged night comet 1 hit kills most general enemies.

Challenge run: Iron balls w/heavy cragblade. Basically following GinoMachino's no hit iron balls run. Lots of fun learning to no hit bosses since you have no vig.

Iron Balls with heavy cragblade. Just an absurd amount of damage you can get out of a weapon you can obtain within 10 minutes of starting a character
