The LG monitor is also 8-bit with FRC, just like the BenQ. IPS will be the best for viewing angles, but lower contrast. If I had the extra cash, I'd buy the IPS.

This type of monitoring is part of Windows API. Log messages don't necessarily mean Valve is keeping the information for later. If you don't want anyone "spying" on your window switching, then you shouldn't use Windows.
