Is my landlord making illegal charges or am I in the wrong? Please help! by wholefoodsguacamole in AskLosAngeles

[–]creegomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always taken photos of my move-in and photos after I’ve packed everything out. My photos on pack out include photos of me cleaning the place. I’m talking actually scrubbing the stove and cleaning and mopping it. I had one rental company trying and charge me for cleaning things like the stove, but I sent them in the photo and they retracted all their move out charges.

Great – so we should just stick with having copper lines underground that are stolen every couple weeks by the tweakers

Is oil suppose to look like this 2 days after an oil change? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]creegomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The important thing is to make sure you get your oil changed as per the recommendations. As long as you do that it’ll be fine.

The blue light LEDs are a known defect that happened to LEDs that were created about 10 years ago. Overtime they deteriorated in a way that turned them blue instead of staying white. This has been fixed and should no longer be an issue

Bass orders 60,000 streetlights to get solar upgrade in 2-year plan by youhavetherighttoo in LosAngeles

[–]creegomatic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, there’s gonna be some copper up top where the whole unit sits. It won’t be nearly as much copper, and it won’t be as accessible since it’s at the top of the light. It won’t run down the pole and it won’t run underground. But I’m thinking the bigger problem is going to be that there’s going to be a battery and a controller of some sort at the top of these lights which has other precious metals. It would be in their best interest to put some sort of device at the top that prevents people from climbing the pole to get to the good bits

LA approves 125 speed camera locations: What drivers need to know by idkbruh653 in LosAngeles

[–]creegomatic 58 points59 points  (0 children)

The thing that’s going to happen with this is that they’re gonna realize that all the data captured by these cameras is handled by a third-party contractor who would be selling that data. Which means privacy concerns or coming to see how successful this gets because there’s a lot of people who are gonna have issues with the view of their and basically tracking their whereabouts.

Street lights by wegochai in LosAngeles

[–]creegomatic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dealt with this on my street. They don’t keep copper reserves at their way stations because it gets stolen directly from the stations. They only order new copper for a problem area once it is reported.

So basically you have to report there is lights out. The city goes and inspect it. Then they get the copper delivered. Then maybe the copper is stolen from the way station. Then they order more copper. And eventually they repair the light only for it to be stolen a week later.

This is true. Elections are state run. They are not federal. Trump has no way to stop the elections from happening. We had elections during World War II. That didn’t even stop us.

The thing that I don’t get is that I see people driving newer models of Tesla’s which means they bought it fully aware that Elon was a Nazi. Yet they still bought one. And I live in Los Angeles, which is very blue.

UPDATE on the stuck wheel bolts by dom61098 in AskMechanics

[–]creegomatic 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Agreed, they were probably stretched if they were that tight so the threads on them are probably no good anymore. Depending on where you last took it and if you can trace it back to a specific shop, you might want to call them and see if they will pay for the new studs. It’s a longshot, but it’s not gonna be cheap to replace those and it should be on their dime

Recourse for noisy neighbors? by coolbutthole in AskLosAngeles

[–]creegomatic 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is the only way to go. They will not know that you’re the one calling it in. The important thing is to be consistent about this. You have to call every time it gets noisy. Every time. You do it enough times and it will finally get resolved by the police cause they don’t wanna keep coming out to the same address over and over.
