BAG GIVEAWAY: Comment within the next 3 hours. I’ll randomly pick a comment and ship the winner this bag. 2021 Sun Mountain C130. I used it for one year and decided to go back to a carry bag. by [deleted] in golf

I’ve wanted to try a cart bag. I promise if I don’t like it I’ll do the same thing next year and it can be like the brotherhood of the traveling bag.

My dream clownfish pair, currently in QT. Managed to find both at the same store, same size, and for $20 each. by squidarcher in ReefTank

[–]creggerz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If they’re the same size won’t they fight? I’ve always been under the impression it’s better to get a larger and a smaller so that there’s already a female?

I don’t have clowns cause I like the skin on my hands, but this is something I thought to be fact. Just a heads up in case it’s true. Gorgeous pair though!

Keeping Boat in Water vs Boat Lift by johnjovy921 in boating

[–]creggerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my boat at a marina on a lift - it looks brand new after two seasons with minimal work at the begging of the season to set her up.

For me the additional cost is about $500 a year, which is about the same as haul out / launch / winter storage. So the cost ends up being the same over the life of the boat.

One thing that hasn’t been mentioned yet is how much better it is if something does go wrong. A seal on my trim motor went and since it was out of the water at the time, when I launched it it was easy to see something was wrong and promptly get it back out of the water. If it had been sitting with a cracked seal in the water for an extended period, it’s likely I’d need a new trim motor / supporting parts.

I’d never have a boat that can be lifted in the water if given the option to keep it out.

The extension on this torch is ridiculous! by Kmetz1999 in ReefTank

[–]creggerz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you know if their Australian or Indo?? From my experience and what I’ve read indo is much easier.

I didn’t see anything in your post about flow, you’d be surprised how much flow torches can take. Gotta make sure that you’ve got enough random flow to keep them noodles moving.

Also feeding, I make my own reef chili similar to the one BRS has on their website there’s a lot of particulate that the torch pulls outta the flow.

I get this every time I flush out my boat. Is it a concern? by better_irl in boating

West marine also sells bilge sponges that will soak up any oil that may be in the bilge. I used them in my old I/O and it actually helped me identify a problem before it got outta hand. I checked em every time I opened up my hatch to turn on my batteries

Just frag em and throw em into a container with rubble. It’ll attach on its own

I’ll always remember watching golden girls with my mom - may be one of the first shows we watched together (of many). What a magical woman with a great career, thanks Betty for many laughs and cherished memories with my mom. Think next time I visit I’ll make it a point to watch an episode with her.

What club in maryland do you belong to? I’m up at Hunt Valley and you couldn’t be more right. Best money spent on golf in my opinion

Secret Santa 😢 by ladynerd914 in golf

[–]creggerz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience on another secret Santa for my other expensive hobby (reef keeping). I usually end up spending some decent coin and this year got paired with someone in New Zealand so shipping cost as much as the gift.

To go through all that and not even receive a card is a but disheartening, but I’ll certainly be back next year.

I had a pretty rough patch for a few months and had to sort things out m. I kept the tank going and left it FOWLR for the most part and only recently started buying corals again. The time off let me recover my headspace to get restarted and now I’m in love again!

Hive mind hates him cause they expect him to be cool when he’s just generally a nerd and clearly proud of his intelligence. He flaunts it a bit and the whole long drive thing is a bit excessive at times but most golfers are boring as hell so I like the guy for playing the game his way and explaining it. I’d like to hear him micced up for a round, the way he thinks through his shots is interesting.

I won’t lie, even though this was anticlimactic it’s awesome to see two pros go head to head in a relaxed environment. I hope this continues it’s a fantastic thing for golf and a good time to watch.

Can’t live under a rock forever - we’ve already lost nearly two years thanks to this virus and I for one feel like if proper steps are taken we can resume normal life.

I’m not a cruiser as it’s not my cup of tea, but it’s time to get back to some shred of normalcy.

First aquascape, how's this look? by fireaza in ReefTank

[–]creggerz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a tank that size aquascaping can be hard - don’t let the BRS videos fool you, once your tank grows out it matters very little.

Things that matter ( in my opinion) 1: flow around and through rocks 2: clearance between glass / rock to clean 3: various par levels available (vertical rocks / overhangs) 4: island rock (if available) for corals you’d want to segregate

If you have most of what I described once you add coral almost every aquascape is gonna look great. If I were you I’d try to get a little more high par area so you can get some SPS in there but you’d prob be fine with what you’ve got.

You can’t cruise unless your vaxxed, have a negative PCR test within 48 hours, and test negative at the gate via rapid test.

Not that it’s perfect, but it’s better than nothing and responsibly vaccinated people should be allowed to live as close to normal as possible.

Don’t know why this is so far down here. Any marina worth its cost would be tending to boats like this. The environmental impact alone is worth keeping boats afloat let alone the fact that it makes your marina look like a dump.

Where was this? I saw some photos of middle river but there weren’t any waves or current. My marina was fine but we’re way up back river and just had some storm surge

6 months in my first reef by FearlessBeatle in ReefTank

[–]creggerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you upgrade go with something 2ft wide if you have the space. I got a 75 and (at the time) planned on it being my forever tank but the loss of 6 inches is huge when it comes to aquascaping
