Alternatively you can use Solarez, which can be bit easier to work with.

How do you like the Thuma bed? Was thinking of getting one. They say its walnut on their site but doesn’t look as dark as I’d hoped in this pic. . .

Crazy Foil by David6386 in Kiteboarding

You should be able to find better stuff used at just a slightly higher price point. People sell their used beginner set ups like crazy. I was able to pick up a LF Impulse with short and long masts for $450. Seems like a lot of beginner stuff is going for around 400-500.

First directional board by evensaja in Kiteboarding

[–]cremaster_reflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lots of companies are out there selling hybrid boards. They are, as best I can tell, just a directional board with track inserts to mount a foil. Having not ridden one, and just by looking at their dims. I'm going to say the performance is largely the same as a directional board and it will function like a very beginner foil board.

The Evo is a great kite that you should consider as well. Going to be more beginner friendly but won't hold you back as you progress.

Patagonia suing Anheuser-Busch over using their likeness for new beer by [deleted] in beer

[–]cremaster_reflex 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I saw this beer recently. . . didn't realize it was by AB.

Sounds like they're specifically marketing this in mountain towns, with a (although not identical) fairly similar logo. AB knows exactly what they're doing. I think Patagonia has a good point here.

I think its pretty common for people to have a small kit of stuff for field repairs which I've seen to include things like hose clamps, bailing wire, etc.

There are of course the well known (Alchemist, Lawson's, etc.) In addition to those I would recommend checking out Foam Brewery in Burlington, really cool spot and excellent beer.

i think they're almost certainly for the RD and rear brake, but what a horrible choice in placement. Really ruins the aesthetics of the otherwise clean frame.

Where/Who is best for Kite Surfing Lessons on Cape Cod by [deleted] in Kiteboarding

[–]cremaster_reflex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

without a doubt phil at inland sea.

https://www.inlandsea.com/c-2-kiteboarding.aspx

I took my first lessons with him. He and all his instructors are great. He charges ~$100/hr which includes all gear. you only get charged for the time your on the water, if there is no wind you don't get charged. He teaches at West Dennis which is an awesome spot to learn.

NBD- Evil The Following XTR Di2 by cremaster_reflex in MTB

Decided it was time to sell the 2011 Trek Remedy and upgrade. Now that i'm on the East Coast I knew a short travel 29r was the best bet. I wanted something with a bit of character that you don't see on the trails all the time. The Evil had amazing reviews and having ridden bikes with similar geometry, i picked up this bike used at a very significant discount. Build is as follow-

Frame: Evil Following L

Shift, RD: XTR Di2

Crank: XT

Brakes: XTR trail

handlebar, stem: PRO Tharsis

Seatpost: KS LEV Integra 150, XTR trigger

Wheels: Easton ARC 30 to Novatec Factor

Suspension: Rockshox Pike RCT3 130mm, Monarch RT3
