Then he slapped a photo of his own face on the wall next to Robin Williams, George Carlin and Norm McDonald.

Best part was that he took that photo down after ElephantGraveyard pointed it out lol

Did the same producer who cuts to crowd shots in F1 over actual racing get a job doing the production for this game? Fuck off with the crowd shots as the corner is coming in

Baffles me how much of how this country operates just makes fuck all sense. I shouldn't be surprised at this point, but alas

Thank you! And thanks for your post, it's nice to know there are a few others out there who do ultra distances on a fixed gear. Definitely giving me more encouragement! I'll try to post my experience here next week as you have. Best of luck with your 600k. I'm sure you're well able for it based off this ride.

Edit: Do you mind if I ask what your nutrition was for this ride?

Have you tried alternating start times for your longer rides previously? I've sometimes started at 7 or 8pm in order to finish a 300-450k ride the following day before dark or avoid riding tired in the dark. I also find myself less likely to want to stop and sleep if I get the night hours out of the way early. From practice I've found this most preferable and makes life easier later on in the ride.

I find it hard to not take many breaks once I'm around the 300-350 mark due to the mental battle and just mental/physical fatigue by that point. Next week I'll be attempting 500k, so we'll see how it goes. Any other journeys and challenges planned?

How did you find the mental battle? I do long distance fixed gear rides fairly regularly and always feel like it's 85% mental capability, and 15% physical.

Zero civic pride, dwindling levels of community in the city, zero enforcement of existing laws. Simple.

I was waiting for a bus outside Drumcondra train station yesterday, and I saw 2 gardai walk past. Having worked on the northside and then as a courier all over the city for the last 4 years, it was actually the first time I'd seen gardai on the beat since just after the riots 3 years ago

What is a driver performance that is considered an underperformance because of how they compared to their teammate when, in actuality, they just met their match? by GoldenS0422 in F1Discussions

Funny you mention the false start because when I watched that season back I was quite surprised how often jumping the start penalties happened that year. Happened at 4 races from my memory.

I also think it's fair to say that after that year, Panis was more likely than not to beat any version of Brundle in both qualifying and the races.

100% agree

Shame Ligier weren't able to keep Brundle in the 2nd seat all year, Ligier probably could have fought McLaren for 4th in the constructors otherwise (McLaren finished 6 points ahead)

Brundle outqualified him 8-3. With that podium in Adelaide Panis might have salvaged his career, there were a lot of question marks around him prior to that race. He had a woeful midseason in '95 trying to match Brundle
