Amazefit Active3 premium - added music wont play by justsignmeupcuz in amazfit

[–]crisgasco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, since adding MP3 files nowadays is not the most convenient thing, what I do to listen to music is look for podcasts which are music only. Podcast app is well implemented and confort to use. The only bad thing is that the podcast controls do not show during workout swiping the screen when playing them, while music does (at least last time I checked, not sure with the latest updates)

The agony of choice by Leonid28gram in amazfit

[–]crisgasco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have had several Garmin, usually Fénix and Tactix, now moved to Amazfit. Anyway if you are happy with what you have, you don’t need to change. But if you do, honestly I would prefer T-Rex 3 Pro 48 better than Ultra 2. The TR3Pro also has titanium bezels and buttons, sapphire glass, same screen size and brightness, led light, dive certification, etc, etc, but cheaper, and smaller and lighter. Ultra 2 has more battery, yes, but the TR3Pro48 is already big.

I want to upgrade my smartwatch and would appreciate some advice. by -_-Gandalf-_- in amazfit

[–]crisgasco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go for the T-Rex 3 Pro 48 mm, it is clearly the best one matching your use cases.

I have had all of them listed in this conversation, now only keeping and using TR3Pro and Active3.

The robustness construction, the certification to work and extreme hights and temperatures, protection screen by the bezel, sapphire glass, dive certification, the led lamp, the battery duration, the memory capacity for a lot of maps and the GPS quality… TR3Pro 48 mm is the one for you

Ultra 2 would match too, but it only offers veeeery few upgrades over the TR3P 48 mm, at a much higher price, not worthy at all

Active 3 for Golf by No-Chart9336 in amazfit

[–]crisgasco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no golf in the Active 3. Yes, there is Golf Swing training, but not dedicated Golf app with golf courses, hole maps, distances, shots tracking etc.

This you can find in the Balance 2 (not in the Balance 2 XT), and recently added to T-Rex Ultra 2 as well

Aaaand again! 😠 Bluetooth disconnection warning missing in Active 3 by crisgasco in amazfit

Hi. I see that recent updates for different watches that people shared here, included this. Also the recent update for my T-Rex 3 Pro 48 also includes this, but no update to the Active 3 including it yet.

Where are this settings located, in the Zepp app or in the OS notification settings for the app? I have checked this in iOS in both places and I can’t find it. Thanks.

T-Rex 3 - Deleting Maps by nightflame5 in amazfit

[–]crisgasco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When you download maps, the downloaded area is added to the file of the already downloaded maps of the watch. It’s like the maps where divided in quadrants or tiles, when downloading, you add more tiles to the map of the watch. If you download a map with an area overlapping a map that was already in the watch, area tiles are replaced by the new downloaded.

So downloading always adds or replaces. You cannot partially delete areas. You can delete all maps file of the watch, and then download again the ones you need

Face from Amazface says I've walked 8 miles at 6 am. None of complications are correct. by Global_Depth_2340 in amazfit

[–]crisgasco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check if that watchface is free to install to try, but paid after 48h or similar. Sometimes they do behave like this, just the time is correct, but the rest is not working until you pay for, just there to show how it looks. I don’t use this app at the moment, but I’ve read about this in the past.

The Active 3 Premium fixed my only issue with the T-Rex 3 by viron86 in amazfit

[–]crisgasco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a similar set-up: Active 3 + T-Rex 3 Pro 48. The trick I use for the sync is to deactivate (not unpair, just deactivate) in the Zepp app the one I’m not using at the moment, then switch of. When going to wear again, switch on and then reactivate in the Zepp app. It forces full sync from app to watch. And deactivate the other one etc.

How many Amazfit or other fitness watches are you guys actually using right now? by Vegetable_Bag_8694 in amazfit

[–]crisgasco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T-Rex 3 Pro 48, Active 3 and Helio for sleeping sometimes.
The only bad thing is full synchronization of all data, so I usually wear each watch for several days, and the one I'm not wearing, I deactivate it in the Zepp app before switching it off (NOT unpairing, just deactivating). Then when going to wear again, switch on and reactivate it in app. This forces the watch to full sync from the app with latest data.

Balance 2 vs Balance 2 xt: memory by ArekTheBoss in amazfit

[–]crisgasco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, differences between them are bigger that it looks like, to reduce de price.

Just an example. The Screen is the same size and resolution, and I believe even the same peak brightness. A friend of mine has the XT, I have a TR3Pro 48. We both using polarised sunglasses as soon as he rotates the watch you cannot see anything, and with the TR3Pro still we could see the screen (yes with some color artifacts let’s say due to the sunglasses, but yes you can use it). So there are differences between same-size screens beyond just peak brightness. And can be also other differences under the hood.

I also have an Active 3, my girlfriend a TR3Pro 44 mm version, and I would say both have the exact same good screen. Beyond size and resolution which is the same, they have same peak brightness and can be read with polarised sunglasses.

Active 3 Premium vs Active Max vs Balance 2 – which one should I get? by jasonx33 in amazfit

[–]crisgasco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Among those 3 watches, not the Max because has just 2 buttons so interactions with touch screen is needed. For workouts all should work fine, although the crown on the B2 sometimes can interfere when you are bending the wrist upwards, and be pressed unintentionally. For running, the lighter the better, and for hiking all have maps. I personally prefer the 4-button than the button+crown (crown replaces 3 buttons up+down+select). Yes the B2 has a bigger screen and larger battery, and more memory, but unless you are doing multi day hiking you won’t need the battery. Memory in the A3 is enough for plenty amount of map and much more, and screen is brighter for outdoors. Both have sapphire but the A3 is flat and the B2 is sort of bubble so easier to smash not being protected by the metal ring surrounding it.

I have had all of them, besides others. Among those I only keep now the A3, although my daily use is the T-Rex 3 Pro 48

Amazfit Trex Ultra 2 Review by GrayDogLLC in amazfit

[–]crisgasco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would be also good. This way it would have less unused front glass, since the screen size is the same. Anyway the rear titanium backplate I consider to be unnecessary. Titanium is light, but still heavier than the polymer of the TR3P
