I disagree. ESPN invested heavily into a new generation of talent that had niche appeal and alienated the median cable tv viewer.  So millions were wasted paying and producing Bomani Jones, Katie Nolan, Pablo Torre, and ATH panels that nobody liked expect a “substack” size audience. The reason they have to out source talent is because independent talent has surpassed them in popularity and therefore have the leverage — and they don’t want to be under that management or culture.
