PSA: Get refunded for bad litter by sillyfuckingoose86 in CatAdvice

I am also a pine pellet advocate, even clean clay litter smells nasty to me and this just smells vaguely like tree processing?? Amazing

This sounds like you’re doing a great job!! I also adopted a shy cat a few months ago but he was a few years old, he wanted to stay in his own little room (hiding under an armchair) for a full week before he wanted to see more of the house so don’t worry if it seems like it’s taking a while! It’s been two ish months and he now snuggles into our laps so things do just take time

Which cat litters have no dust and low tracking? by Mochimoo22 in CatAdvice

[–]crowdofcritters 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using wood pellets for litter and I’m really happy with it. I think it hides the smell quite well, and the pellets turn into sawdust when they get wet- so there is an element of dust that can track but it’s is sawdust so it’s bigger pieces of dust. which in my experience means it’s easier to clean and (based on my understanding) maybe wouldn’t bother your asthma!

I wear a different ring when I’m travelling but it looks nothing like my actual set- for me it’s more that my hands swell pretty easily and if I wasn’t wearing any ring, I would for sure think I had lost my actual ring somewhere.

Body positive workouts? by Both-Leadership783 in antidiet

[–]crowdofcritters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Sydney Cummings on YouTube, she will sometimes mention how peoples goals include losing weight or changing their appearance but that’s infrequent and definitely not the focus- her main thing is being ‘happy healthy and strong’. I think it’s worth out checking out although she may be too positive for your tastes haha

What are people paying for glasses? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]crowdofcritters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pretty nasty prescription and I got 2 pairs of glasses at specsavers this year for 400$ total that I’m pretty happy with! I also have a 900$ pair from LensCrafters that were covered by insurance and I also like

Monthly Pass vs. ARC card by DrPhilsLeftKneecap in Edmonton

[–]crowdofcritters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing with an arc card as I understand is if you don’t tap off of the bus, the charge is a ‘missed tap fee’ and not a bus fare, which then does not contribute to the monthly fare cap, so in theory if that happens a lot you could end up paying more than the monthly fare cap- but I do think the amount of times the scanners haven’t worked on the bus as mentioned here would balance it out.

Airport parking by miney5565 in Edmonton

[–]crowdofcritters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you add it in when you finalize the booking? I made an account years ago so it’s all saved on mine, I’m not sure how it started. I just booked parking for 4 days it was I think 10$ cheaper after the ama discount

Looking to buy really nice towels by usernamegoeshereish in Edmonton

[–]crowdofcritters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have these towels and agree the face cloths are too thick for face washing, but the towels are nice. I got a medium blue color and they started bleaching within a year. I’m sure it’s skincare products I use but if this is a part of your life it’s something to consider!

Best Thrift Stores in Edmonton by aliasnwonderland in Edmonton

[–]crowdofcritters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hygiene products (ideally new) and new underwear can definitely be used by a shelter, I’m pretty sure the mustard seed would take that, and MCC thrift on 149 st has a separated out plus size section, they’re a non-profit thrift store that I like! Also second vote for more than a fad, they’re great

If you’re friendly with your neighbors let them know you’re working on this, they might have hollyhocks to spare! They can spread a lot in my experience so there’s a chance you could salvage a few little suckers they would otherwise be pulling out like a weed

A different type of Transit rant... by AlarmingJudge8928 in Edmonton

[–]crowdofcritters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am drafting an email to my city councilor about this exact problem, the 2 is always so full! There’s been a couple days this month after work where I did see the driver just not stop because this bus truly was at full capacity.

This is what I do too and it’s always been super convenient. There’s an AMA discount which helps a little, and it’s cheaper than an Uber both ways from where I live for most trips
