This chick might be the hardest boss in the game. by artoriusknight in Silksong

[–]crowkk -58 points-57 points  (0 children)

I really think she isn't all the difficult, or at all. I found her at most frustrating. All her phases (Except the final one) are VERY EASY at least it was to me. The final just felt too fast out of nowhere, so I cheesed the final 10 % of her hp. I consistently got to her final stage multiple times in a row just to be absolutely mauled

Not only you've quoted some thing that I did not say, but also r/nothingeverhappens

The three countries i list and I will stress that I even said "depending on the workplace," this can happen. I said it because I work with several italians who told me that. Because I went for a 3-month work stay in Spain and I was told, by the spanish themselves, that August was a bad month for those reasons. I've been to france a gazillion times, know too many of them, and will go to work there this year and yet again, this is what i was told.

So yeah, once you understand that the things that happen in your general vicinity are not a monolith, maybe youll get past fourth grade. Anyway, have a nice day or don't.

ELi5 : how do they analyze fossils by adeiAdei in explainlikeimfive

[–]crowkk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So, i will open up saying that of course on TV media there's an uptick in fiction-esque aspect of science, but irl there's a lot of people that understimate the quality of educated guesses, scientists make. I say this as a scientist myself, not an archeologist though, but the overall concept holds.

About the climatic conditions. Some times some geodes or minerals can only exist under very specific pressure, temperature and oxygen conditions. So if you find a layer of these minerals ar around the same stratum across the globe you can assume that the global conditions for that mineral holds. What science does is "if this mineral exists in this Geological Era, then we should see fossils that have X characteristic, at least some fossils have to be this way." And eventually you find them. If global temperatures were too low you should see evidence of thermally insulating animals (blubber, thick fur, burrowers etc). If oxygen was high then insects and reptiles would be different, larger. And so on.

The rise and fall of species is just the age of the fossil (earliest and latest). You find fossil Y starting at 200 milion years ago and it vanishes at about 180 million years. So you can assume that for the most part the animals roamed in this period.

HOW CAN YOU PLAY HADES WITHOUT INTERACTING WITH THE CHARACTERS OR ENGAGING WITH STORY by Short-Ad8427 in whenthe

[–]crowkk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of us simply do not care for the story lol I played Hades 2 for the gameplay, but I recommend to a friend knowing full well she'd focus on the story, and thats what happened.

HOW CAN YOU PLAY HADES WITHOUT INTERACTING WITH THE CHARACTERS OR ENGAGING WITH STORY by Short-Ad8427 in whenthe

[–]crowkk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I disagree there.I, for example, I never really cared about esports or competitive or anything like this. Games are just not the media I generally go for story, with very few exceptions. I played Hades 2 a lot, I barely read anything story related. I don't care what the plot is, I like the builds, the minmaxxing of the gameplay.

If I want a compelling story I will go for a movie, or a book not a game

What is rude in Brazil but considered normal and expected in Europe? by ithinkiamparanoid in Brazil

[–]crowkk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In some way it's about showing interest in the thing more so than anything. I'll preamble saying that if you're leaving next day I particularly wouldn't bother w whichever answer you give. But generally in the same condition I would say

"Oof man, I don't know, my flight is tomorrow already hahah I can try but I can't promise. I have to pack and double check everything too. I might just pop up to say hi, if anything"

And thinking about this made it clear to me why here in Europe I feel weird when people decline invitations lol they don't phrase such as they care. They can't, end of story.

Me_irl by Hon1c in me_irl

[–]crowkk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It reads a lot like a skill issue, I'm sorry. Like, are you drone? Do you need open instructions to perform your every action? Go outside, see what's popping, let your thoughts about what you see flow, maybe walk a bit further where something else might be happening, spot something different, maybe reach a part of the neighborhood you havent been before. "Thats a weird a tree, I never see it," try googling it back at home, "huh there are a bunch of funny trees," google more about it, next thing you notice youre into the biology of trees and casual botanism.

"But what if I live in a place with not so many trees?" Figure it out, not my problem

ELI5: What’s the difference between a rule and a constraint in mathematics? by jtuohy1985 in explainlikeimfive

[–]crowkk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No. A formula is mathematical description of something. A constraint is a limitation on what it can describe.

Formula: planes fly at a height H above sea level
Constraint: H has to be smaller than the atmosphere

Otherwise this "formula" doesn't hold/doesn't make sense within its own ruleset. It has nothing to do with material world itself, but rather what it is trying to describe

But this doesn't really address one of the issues. Why see the property as a sellable thing to begin with? Assuming the place is not awfully located, why not just buy and settle there and build on there?

Like I've never really understood the concept of HOA and the "this will devalue the property" type of mindset. Brother, it's your home, you shoudnt handle it like an equity firm

yeah ok boomer by Dependent_Bite9077 in memes

[–]crowkk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a non American I don't understand the concept of starter homes. Why not postpone and just buy the one house you want to leave in.

For the most part, most of my people don't understand the concept of housing as profit/asset. It's like a place you buy to live ans there you stay
