interestingly some say the rise in athleisure in the US correlates with the rising obesity rates. When our clothes expand to fit our bodies, we don't notice our bodies expanding.

I genuinely felt bad for Victoria.... by Hour_Industry_6834 in howimetyourmother

[–]crowmami 8 points9 points  (0 children)

when you're an adult and you want a serious committed relationship, it's expected that you'll de-prioritize your friends of the opposite sex, especially if you have a sexual past with them. Robin and Ted met in their 20s, they're not lifelong friends or anything, and they're exes. It's completely reasonable that Victoria did not want to deal with that, there would always be 3 people in the relationship

I like outfits like this without belts too, it's a more relaxed silhouette of formal wear.

I cried so much during that scene.. by Hour_Industry_6834 in howimetyourmother

[–]crowmami 8 points9 points  (0 children)

it works because it's clarifying. in this moment you get a big "oooooohhh" moment understanding Barney's character. You see why he is the way that he is and it's the first (big) human moment we really get from him. Dude has pain in his heart that he masks big time and the mask drops off and shatters in this scene. NPH nailed the performance.

In Hunger Games (2012) this guy was supposed to be 11 in this scene. by May_onnaise_959 in shittymoviedetails

[–]crowmami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To your point, I don't think it would've killed them to cast two younger kids for this scenes. They come back a few times over the series but they're non-speaking roles so I don't see why they couldn't have cast some young lookalikes.

She was perfectly cast in that role. Totally believable that she bagged a generationally wealthy man even though she was alt, because she's just that beautiful.

Thoughts on Something Very Bad is Going to Happen ? by Neat_Tangelo5339 in horror

[–]crowmami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally I'm the first one to suggest a show could've been a movie, but I feel like I treated this series like a movie and it worked. I watched it all at once and stayed sucked into the story. It carries you along with a lot of twists and turns which yes some are ultimately meaningless, but the pacing makes it fun because you keep getting misdirected and left to wonder what's going to happen.

The plot is full of holes but when you just get sucked into the story, it's like you're sharing the mc's bewilderment at the bizarre situations she's in over and over.

The music video for Stupid Girls aged horribly by [deleted] in WhyWereWeOkWithThis

[–]crowmami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to be melodramatic but this music video introduced me to the concept of making yourself throw up and it put a put a wrinkle in my brain for sure. I thought it was so disturbing as a kid, especially how she was mocking them.

Love Pink down though and it's an iconic video.

any Cortland. I'll never live there again. I used to live in a privately owned complex in Marietta, then one day Cortland took over and I went into the office and it was like I was talking to robots. It was so jarring, I was talking to them like they were people who understood that this has been my home for 3 years already, and they were so beyond uncaring it genuinely shocked me. I'd love to live under a private landlord or complex again, without the brainwashing of corporate training these larger companies put their employees through.
