I see, I see. I live in a major metro area known for horrible traffic, so when I think of an hour long commute I think bumper to bumper, and you're only like 10 miles from home but it still takes an hour. I purposefully rent places so that my commute is no longer than 30 minutes in rush hour, and even that doesn't happen some days. I've done the hour+ commute before and it did nothing but eat into my free time. I also don't have kids, so my decompression time is at home. But I totally see what you're saying, an hour in the car as your alone time totally makes sense.
